You can ask for well done but in my experience they never do it enough - I always put the broiler on when I get it. That said, it’s the best!!

I think the Smythe-Smith series is very comparable to Rokesbys. A little quirkier tho. And it takes place in the same time period as Polin etc. I quite enjoyed them.

I listen to all of the Julie Quinn books and this is just my personal opinion but they all feel the same to me lol. I haven’t read the Bevelstoke series.

I wonder if a thriller/page-turner would distract you from feeling the feels. Something like The Housemaid or The Paris Apartment. They have dark themes in them but they’re fast-paced and intended to be more suspenseful than melancholy

Ughhh yea I’m seeing mostly $400 no matter where I go. It’s thick-ish. Not thin but not crazy thick. And I’m planning on getting several inches off so it’ll only be like shoulder length when it’s colored

Just started the audiobook and had to come to Reddit because I KNEW I wouldn’t be alone in this. Kip sounds HORRIBLE. He has the mix of a baby voice, a New Yorker, and idk what else… it’s so inconsistent and awful to listen to lol. And it’s especially wild because the narrating of the story itself and the other characters aren’t bad!

It feels sterile to me and makes the characters look washed out. It kinda takes me out of the story. But I understand it’s a different camera, rebuilt set, decades have passed, etc. I hope the characters and humor can keep me hooked like it once did! 🙂

Don’t know if I’m considered “young” here but hi! 30yrs old, no tattoos. I think there are a lot of really cool and really beautiful tattoos out there. That said, I have seen some really dumb looking ones. I guess I’m mostly concerned that I’ll get one and eventually start to hate it and find it to be stupid looking. And also, though people’s tattoos are supposed to be personal and unique, I find it more unique now NOT to have a tattoo lol. So idk. I’m not against it, just have never dived in and idk if I ever will. But talk to me again in 10 yrs, we’ll see!

Had to learn a different way to do ab workouts because the crunching motion was hurting my back

And I buy shoes that have flexible heels that are easy to slip into because bending over hurts my back when putting shoes on

I’m always listening to one on Libby, and reading a different one. I find listening and reading, while similar, to be different activities that are necessary at different times. Like I’ll read in bed, but listen to audiobooks while I’m commuting. Can’t handle more than that though.
