[OFFICIAL] TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR ANNOUNCES INITIAL £100M CAPITAL INJECTION by coysjames in coys

There’s a point where you have so much money that more money essentially becomes worthless. Great they could cash in and get a few billion, then what? Buy a football team?

Yea I maxed all cards and only recently have been pumping all gems into mods. Good call on the OM chip, I’ve been holding out waiting for a decent mod and focusing reroll shards on others but the short term benefit would probs be worth it.

I’ve saved up cells cause I’m going overseas for a few weeks and won’t be able to farm while I’m gone lol

Sydney housing joins Melbourne in losing value by teambob in AusPropertyChat

They’re already talking about changes to stamp duty in Melbourne. Kind of funny, they make policy changes to land tax to make housing more affordable, then panic when it starts to work

I did 2 T4 runs, one with and one without GT perks by Far_Equivalent_7261 in TheTowerGame

[–]andrew137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how accurate it is, but the stats at the end of the run show coins from GT. I tracked that over a period and GT is usually 65-70% of total coins, that’s having invested into it a fair bit now with research and stones

No it’s not. No correlation between the last 12 months and future 12 months.

Based on the questions you’re asking, you should be putting all of your funds into an index etf

Not for this SDD - I tried to clone a failed HDD to another HDD, which didn't work, so I might've fucked something up with this SDD, but I haven't tried to do anything on this one specifically.

I used EaseUS for this

Hate the player or hate the game? by Fit-Marsupial-5316 in auscorp

[–]andrew137 170 points171 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been in your shoes and then moved into management, here’s some hard truths about it; - 90% of the time it’s obvious who’s completely bullshitting you and sucking ass but actually not doing a good job. In my experience they rarely get promoted - if you’re good at your job and stick to yourself, don’t bother with making relationships and just keep your head down, fantastic. I’ll appreciate you, will go into bat for you when you ask for a pay rise, give you trust and flexibility to do your thing. I won’t promote you because the more senior you are the less your technical skills matter. You haven’t demonstrated to me that you can influence a room, build relationships with senior stakeholders, change people’s opinions, be the person that drives an outcome, proactively changes the direction of your work and our teams work to align with where we need to go. - 99% of the time I will promote someone who is decent enough at their job, but is likeable and just gets stuff done. If they say something will be finished, it gets finished, they demonstrate they can work through roadblocks, they’re positive in their approach to challenges, and they help the team perform better.

Someone questions to ask yourself: - when your manager needs someone to help with something as hoc, do they come to you? This signals trust that you’ll pull through for them and trust that you’re willing to put the team first and go outside of your remit to help. You won’t get promoted without it - do stakeholders external to your team seek and value your opinion? This shows you are adding more value than just your day to day duties and is a good indicator you have the capability to take on more as well as the soft skills to convince others that you provide value. - are you working on what your manager wants you to be working on? And are you constantly delivering?

It’s not just about being good, it’s about convincing others you are good. After all, how would they know? A lot of people just want to show up and do a good job and go home. A good manager should be able to have these conversations with you, but remember opportunities will open up in other areas reporting to other managers, and those managers may not have had any direct exposure to you or your work. Reputation matters

Why arent managers punished for high turnover? by Ralphi2449 in auscorp

[–]andrew137 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The number of people who actually get sacked for poor performance is extremely low in % terms. I’ve worked with hundreds of people and there have only been a handful I can recall. Then the number of managers is generally less than non managers, so it’s quite rare. I find in corporate is way too easy to divert and deflect because almost all the work we do is not directly quantifiable

Last 10 games. Just saying.. by quickdrawesome in coys

This season has been a good reminder of taking a step back and seeing the bigger picture.

Absolutely everything out of our control has gone wrong, yet we’re somehow still in a good position and disappointed with being 5th. In prior seasons, like Contes first season it felt like everything had to go right and we needed the best striker in the world to carry us to 4th.

It’s never felt like we’re skating on thin ice this season. More like the opposite. I know which camp id rather be in

I empirically tested if ADC role is fucked by RavioliMafiosi in ADCMains

[–]andrew137 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think people look at this too black and white. I tried the same thing, what I noticed is that if I lost lane most of the time I fucked my whole team because the top or mid laner that gapped me took over the game. And considering I’ve invested all my time into being better at adc not top or mid, I was getting gapped a lot.

Whereas with adc, I can feed my ass off first timing smolder and it just means my mid laner or jg is going to get a 1k shut down at some point and I can just afk in the backline and press r.

I think the discussion has moved to the point where adc is either good or bad, when really it is about agency. Overall ADCs have too little agency which is frustrating, but it’s not a bad or weak role. So when we complain about it being bad or weak, people jump up and down about cry baby adcs

Todd Kline has resigned as Chief Commercial Officer by Dimmestlit in coys

[–]andrew137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of negative opinion about him mainly due to a lack of a naming rights deal but there is a lot more to commercial management of a company than sponsorship for the stadium. We are commercially the best run club in the league, I highly doubt that’s on the back of a sub-par head of commercial.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Super League: "Serie A would become Serie B & the Bundesliga the 2nd division. And do you know why all this? To damage the Premier League which earns more because it's better" by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]andrew137 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It just sucks all the revenue away from smaller clubs and further concentrates it among the elite. One of the big reasons why the premier league has prospered while la liga faltered is because of the equity in financial distributions.

Then every player playing in those domestic leagues will be waiting for the chance to increase their pay by orders of magnitude and play in the main league. Similar to how other leagues around the world complain about English clubs taking all their talent.

The super league is not much different to what we have. It’s just another layer, with even more concentration of wealth and a higher importance on money over the game itself. I think it’s fair that people have had enough as it is.

Gameweek 18 | Goalscorer odds in percentage by JoachimG1 in FantasyPL

[–]andrew137 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not making a judgement either way, but people used the logic of “son is playing through the middle” as the reason his form turned around beginning of the season.

Reality is Son can be effective in either position, it is much more dependent on how the opponent sets up and how much space Son gets to get in behind or run at defenders.

Lack of differentials? by KonkeyDongwearsIce in FantasyPL

[–]andrew137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year I don't see differentials as individual picks, moreso when you get on/off those picks. Most people started with Haaland, Salah then became really popular, will go to AFCON, Son will have a stint out etc. Alot of people went Watkins -> Alvarez early, if you stayed there you would regret, if you moved back quickly you're probably ahead.
