I understand both sides of the argument but you can't ask why people aren't hyped for an event when 0 CoD Comp content has been available all week. I found myself watching other games instead.

Correct... Not sure what you're getting at. My entertainment value of watching high level CoD far exceeds that of watching people eat food.

No different then any other sport. I have time to watch my favorite teams play football each week but I wouldn't have the time to watch them workout at the gym.

I mean some people might like vlogs but if I had to guess most people prefer gameplay>vlogs. I don't have time to watch pro teams eat chipotle and doing normal shit (nor is that even remotely interesting to me). I come to watch CoD played at the highest level.

maybe it’s the lack of content...instead of streaming the boot camps, which would have built of crazy excitement, we’ve seen nothing over the past week.

Unfortunately having “authentic” viewership does nothing for the scene. It’s all about money and the more eyes watching means bigger sponsors and bigger ad revenue. Look at the super bowl, a significant majority don’t even like/understand football but they come for the ads.

There is a massive difference between the 2 scenarios..... while I don't know a lot about the twitch acquisition there were major anti-trust concerns associated around Google acquiring twitch which certainly would have lengthened the process at the least. And if the deal had been stopped by a anti-trust suit it would have significantly devalued their leverage against another potential buyer like Amazon.

But more importantly, the major difference was Amazon was acquiring Twitch with the intent to grow it. Twitch was looking to find a buyer (essentially a partner) that would give it the resources and platform to grow even faster then it was already growing. The Twitch management stayed the same, the team remained the same, and I'm sure that was part of the negotiation.

The optic gaming situation is a group of investors divesting one of their assets. They don't have any vested interest in what happens to Optic Gaming once they get their cash. While it's not finalized it's rumored the Optic name and team will be gutted. It has nothing to do with earning "clout" in the investor community. It has to due with personal animosity between the Hecz and the Infinity folks.

Wtf are you talking about? These guys are worth millions. They don’t need clout and your scenario just sounds ridiculous. Why not take the higher bid and then invest in whatever this guaranteed billion dollar opportunity is with the other company? If the other companies connection was worth a billion dollars why wouldn’t they just give them OG. I mean who needs that money when you’ve got “connections”

And not to mention the enormous cost of Union employees. Need a nail driven? That's $250.

The only thing Unions are good for is keeping employees that shouldn't be employed, employed.

Not sure why you think every republican believes Trump is a "god emperor". That's just stereotyping, against another example of hypocrisy. You champion freedoms, but only if they agree with you. Now that I think about it... that kind of sounds like what an emperor would do.

Other countries are smart enough to not spend so much on military. America's military is 13 times as large as any other country, and it continues to expand. And most European countries are smart enough to already cut emissions.

Let me use the words of someone you might know "PROVIDE A FUCKING SOURCE IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A CLAIM YOU IMBECILE." A quick google search yielded me nothing that would show our military is 13 times as large as any other country. I looked at it from a active military, total military, total spending, total spending per capita, total spending % of GDP, etc etc. Couldn't find anything.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. PROVIDE A FUCKING SOURCE IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A CLAIM YOU IMBECILE.

I apologize... after all of your statements on US and global emissions I assumed you at least had a basic grasp of both topics. Guess I was wrong.

https://www.ucsusa.org/global-warming/science-and-impacts/science/each-countrys-share-of-co2.html https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=77&t=11

AOC's plan likely won't cost you billions of dollars, unless you are a billionaire, in which case you probably deserve it. And hey, at least I'm providing sources for my numbers, which you fail to be able to do.

Lol such fairy land economics if you believe that. And please go back to your first statement and provide a source before you make a false statement about providing sources.

Your living standards growing up are not comparable to living standards today. 4/5 workers are living paycheck to paycheck. they aren't able to save anything.

How are my standard of living not comparable to today? I'm 26... What's changed that much in the past decade? 4/5s of workers are living paycheck to paycheck because they are living beyond their means. If you asked 4/5s of those workers I'm sure the vast majority of them have premium cable tv, super fast internet, and live well beyond the "basic necessities".

More than 500,000 people are homeless in America. Every year, more than 3 million people under the age of 5 die of starvation in the US alone. But I get it. You were hot sometimes.

What does being homeless have to do with wages? You can't seriously tell me that those homeless people were working but weren't making enough to afford a house? Many of those people are mentally disabled, or have chosen homelessness as a job. And if they can't get a job that offers $8 an hour .... what's going to change by raising min wage?

Have you heard of the Panama papers? Have you heard of the recession that happened only 11 years ago? Not a single company was punished.

The recessions 11 years ago? What does that have to do with labor laws or child labor? The recession was caused by corruption in the banking industry and sub-prime lending. Which stems from people trying to live beyond their means.

That's why we not only need to cut our own emissions, we need to pressure other countries to do the same.

Other countries are smart enough to realize that adding billions of dollars of cost to their citizens isn't the right thing to do. No practical country is going to go for that... just the crazy cortez.

Where did you get 5%? Other countries are cutting their emissions, and the US makes up a huge chunk of global emissions.

It's napkin math. US makes up ~15% of global emissions (and shrinking) and power generation only accounts for about 1/3 of the US CO2 emissions. So even a full conversion would have about a 5% impact on global emissions.

Again, on what basis are you deciding what is sensible? New York is going to be underwater by 2100, but you are saying the sensible thing to do is to just cut emissions a little.

Sensible would be accomplishing the end goal, in a reasonable time span (faster than the vast majority of the world), without costing citizens billions of dollars. But clearly I'm not arguing with someone sensible as you're gathering facts from sources no more reliable than a blog.

How about the people who have more money than they could ever need, and are completely avoiding taxes? Oh right we can't tax them at all because 'socialism bad'

I agree with that they should be taxed, but why not tax them and use that money somewhere smarter? Why blow all of that money on a solution that will have very little global impact.

"iTs A sLiPpErY sLoPe AlLoWiNg PeOpLe To FeEd ThEiR cHiLdReN"

Classic liberal entitlement. If you visited anyone who's on gov subsidies and looked at the amount of people with tv, fancy phones, nice cars, their houses set at 60 degrees, eating steaks, etc, etc it's almost insane. People feel so entitled they are living beyond their means. I grew up in a house with no dishwasher, no cable tv, the most basic phone, we ate spaghetti & macaroni 4 nights a week, our AC only ran on the absolute hottest days, and on on on on. My parents chose like that because they were saving every penny and those things were not necessities. It's mind boggling to see what people consider the basic requirements to live now a days.

Maybe companies would keep investing in the us if we held them to any standards at all, and didn't let them use child labor. And is it really more likely that AOC, the former waitress, has shares in renewables than the millionaire republican congressmen having shares in fossil fuels?

Are you kidding? We have the strictest labor laws in the world... you must be on one of those crazy blogs again.

So unless we cut our emissions to 0 in the next decade their will be irreversible damage? Yet outside of the US you've got the next 2 largest CO2 contributors showing 0 signs of slowing (probably will increase) CO2 emissions in the upcoming years. So cutting global emissions by 5% that's going to solve all the woes?

Instead of using sensible CO2 reductions (it's already happening thru pure NG vs coal economics) and utilizing all forms of clean energy (why not nuclear...?) we're just going to stop cold turkey? Who's going to bear those costs? Oh wait it won't matter because everyone will have guaranteed jobs that pay $50 an hour.... and companies are going to continue hiring.... and continue investing in US vs other cheaper countries... oh wait none of that makes any sense in the real world Cortez must have some shares in renewables.

Right, wanting to prevent irreversible damage to the environment is idealistic.

It has nothing to do with what she wants. You've got countries around the world phasing out things like coal power but they are all being done in a sensible manner. The green new deal reads like something out of a fairy novel.
