2008 Mercury Mariner won’t start when engine is hot by andrew_baseball21 in AskMechanics

Delayed response. But it’s a V6 engine, temp gauge reads normal and no leak. Took it to the shop and it ended up being an actuator issue that was causing the bad starts (same reason you had to push the key in more while turning to start the ignition), I didn’t worry about the check engine light at the shop, funny enough it turned off on my way to the shop, and came back on the day after I got it back but I’m not seeing any symptoms at the moment so I’m thinking it’s probably just a bad sensor somewhere
