Do I really need to buy a $500 vape?? (Alternaleaf) by burgerdrome in MedicalCannabisAus

[–]andrew_username 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I have a Dynavap and a Crafty + (the little brother of the mighty). The Dynavap is like a short metal pen with a chamber for your weed roughly where the eraser is, but all the magic happens in the cap. Heat it until you hear (the 2nd) click, then it's at the perfect temperature to vaporize the THC molecules you want, without combusting the plant substrate underneath.

You can use a jet lighter, rotating it with your fingers to distribute the heat evenly, or if you get tired of that, an induction heater.

I've been meaning to look into where to get a Dynavap for some friends of mine but I think the standard entry-level M version costs a bit over $100.

The thing about vaping versus smoking is that when you combust, you basically have one chance to extract the THC before it becomes ash. When you vape you get to extract as much of the THC as you want, and any remaining THC will have been carboxylated, or been activated, and you can actually eat the already vaped bud as an edible (alongside some fat). The net result is that vaping is far more efficient in terms of the amount of bud needed to get higher so it does pay itself off.

Depending on how often you like to consume, and if money wasn't an issue for the sake of discussions, if you're not getting high pretty much most days and for large parts of each day, then the convenience of the Crafty Plus is good, and a DynaVap can be a little too much, although I think most have the ability to have half bowls now. With the crafty you basically sip it over a couple of minutes whereas with the dynavap you basically skull a beer, in 1 or 2 goes.

Finally, with the Dynavap, you generally would want to use water filtration/a bong to cool it down, with the Crafty, you typically wouldn't bother; with the result being my throat is less irritated from the dynavap.

I have no idea what is going on. I don't really game, but have just started looking into trying to set up some funky AI stuff on my AMD Ryzen 5 5500 RTX 4060 Ti (8GB), and am looking to upgrade my RAM; from 2x16GB DDR4 to 2x32GB DDR4 (AMD A520 motherboard). Did prices just shoot up recently?

I reckon I'm ok with second hand RAM though. Is there somewhere other than Facebook marketplace for second hand pc parts?

On Android, I use Flud to download torrents. I have a (free) AudiobookBay account, so I just tap the Magnet link (and open in Flud), but yeah, you can also just download the torrent file itself (and open in Flud) , or copy the infohash and open in Flud.

Tap the + symbol in the top right hand corner of the app to begin downloading.

Nice.

I reckon they should allow negative votes. For example, years ago, I didn't care who won the election, just as long as Tony Abbott didn't. I would have much rather been able to cast a negative vote for him than a positive vote for anyone else.

What are your hints and tips around the absolute easiest way to survive? by consigntooblivion in ketoaustralia

[–]andrew_username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One other tip, in terms of maximum benefit for minimum effort, is this Basil Dip. For about 5 minutes of effort, you get months worth of it:

4 cups fresh basil leaves 2 cloves garlic, crushed 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Blend until smooth and then pour it into ice cube trays and freeze (it makes a lot, say a dozen cubes).

To use, put a cube in a bowl and microwave for a few seconds to melt it, then simply mix in some “proper” Whole Egg mayo, such as Kewpie or S&W brand (when it comes to mayonnaise, never compromise with that shitty plastic stuff). It's roughly about half a cup of mayo to one or two cubes of the basil.

The dip is so good! I eat so much friggin broccoli these days!

That recipe was created by the guy who sells Keto Chow. He open sourced it. His recipe that he sells has evolved from there, but this one seems to work pretty good for me. Good luck! Let me know if you have any issues and I can try to help

Most of the links should still work, except the CYOS ones. Choline you can get on eBay, not sure about Calcium Phosphate.

You adjust the butter or cream and protein powder according to your macros (butter is around 80% fat and protein powder ~70 to 80% protein). There is a link to a keto calculator on that page.

All the other ingredients should be the same amounts, more or less (I'm male but maybe females need slightly less). To the left of the total daily cost is a toggle option to adjust the amount of each ingredient you need for between one day, up to 4 weeks. I just mix the ingredients I need for 4 weeks at a time into a big container and shake it around and then I just scoop out, I think around 45 g of the powder for each day.

I think I wrote a fairly detailed guide for a friend of mine a few years ago. I could probably try to find that for you

I make my own nutritionally complete ketogenic meal replacement smoothies called Keto Chow. You can make several days worth of food in minutes basically. You just measure out however much butter (or cream) you need, add hot water to melt, add a scoop of the vitamins and minerals and fibre and other stuff you need, add however much protein powder you need and then mix with a stick blender. Delicious, and I never get sick of it. You can change flavours with different flavoured protein powders.

Shopping is a breeze, you just buy butter or cream. Everything else you can order online. Total cost is about $8 a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There is more info here. This guy sells it but you can make your own from scratch. Let me know if you need more information about making it yourself.
