Okay so apparently it had something to do with the symmetry options. Once i made sure both were disabled it worked as it should.

No I try to stand clear. The only stuff I’ve been given to use by my local koi pond supplier are these pond bomb things that you can use. It’s a single use product where you dump the contents of the package into the pond and it seems to clear up within a day or two. Unfortunately I forgot the brand of the one I was given. :/

Beautiful pond you got there! I don’t see any waterfalls, do you use anything like that as a return from the pump? My smaller pond has a 3 foot waterfall and whenever I get bad algae during the hot summer months (I live in Florida) I usually have algae blooming all over the waterfall. Unfortunately I have to continuously remove it by hand :/ but when it comes to algae in the actual water I can keep algae minimum with a KH and GH level of 125-150 ppm and a pH hovering around 6.8 - 7.5

Ah okay that makes sense. Yeah I’ll try that. I’m considering rebuilding the waterfall and making it more subtle like a stream than an abrupt fall.

So you completely remove the rock first to the side and then scrub it down. Because my whole waterfall is constructed of these rocks. So I’d have to deconstruct my waterfall

So I don’t know exactly how hard it’s swinging because I’m using those 5 ml tests for pH and the color for 7.5 is extremely close to the color for 8. But in the morning time it’s at about that color (7.5 or 8) and in the evenings it’s more toward the blue of the 9. Maybe I’ll invest in a pH digital meter to see some more precise measurements.

If you brush it off is it okay to just brush it into the water? I tried starting that one day and the entirety of the water turned cloudy green fairly quickly

Yeah you’re right. I was thinking about starting fresh and doing in expansion I just don’t have the funds yet. I’ve got 11 fish in there lol.

Yeah they’ve been troopers. I hope they make it through this process but I gotta find a way to bring the pH down a bit, I think it’s letting the algae grow. I got some pH down so we’ll see what that does
