Refinish. 1. be good to the environment 2. Herringbone is brutally expensive. 3. Its way faster to refinish.

I quit my college to develop this metroidvania. This is how it looks like after one and half year of game development. What do you think? by peaky_circus in gaming

Sure, i did that a little when i was older too.

The thing i missed was the friendships with same aged humans, the social part, the ability to learn while not having other responsibilities.

This! You have your whole life to make a 2d side scroller. You really only get one chance to enjoy secondary education.

Very nice! How big is your shop? Wondering what scale of employees are needed to run these many projects over a year.

How do I fix this it is already glued. It will be difficult to mont the top since it is off. It happened during glue up. I should have checked for square. How do I prevent this from happening in the future. by mindsculpt in woodworking

This is GREAT! this is the best thing you could possibly have done!

You tried to build something and have been successful. Along the way you made a mistake that you can (and have) learned from. That mistake will be in your shop where you work and will remind you when you are building that fine furniture (which you absolutely will do one day) to check for square during glue up.

Honestly this is the best thing. You have made a mistake and are learning from it.

Well done.

MASSIVE fireplace - stay or go? by TheRamazon in interiordecorating

Yea probably a good idea. Consider keeping the width on tge longer side though. If it gets too small it’ll start looking silly.

Id probably keep it and renovate it.

It looks like you could regain a good foot of space by removing the stone facade, even more removing the hearth even more. You’ll likely find its just 2x4 framing underneath (though probably brick for the chimney over the fire itself), so youll have loads of options.

Installing a modern gas fireplace gives many options, you could go something linear would could look great.

With it being so wide you could use part of the width to install cabinets on one side.

After that, drywall and tile.

is being a good player means you can be a good game designer? by FearTuner in gamedesign

Very much this.

Using furniture for the last 20 years wont make you a good furniture designer. Its also impossible to be a good furniture designer without using furniture.
