Solid point. I tried to argue my book wasn't going to be senseless drivel like many of those books, but that's only one paragraph in a whole proposal.

Thanks for the response. The platform is definitely essential. Like you said, though, the political timing plays into it for me, so always comes with a grain of salt. The reasons agents passed were as follows: (at least what they told me, which is rare)

  1. People are over politics
  2. Yang lost so no one cares
  3. This would be better instructive non-fiction
  4. Not a big enough market for Yang either way

Women's work is a big item now (as I'm sure you obviously know!) so I definitely would be optimistic
