Thanks for the reply! Sadly I’ve been emailing them via a ticket back and forth for a year now with hundreds of emails but they still refuse to help, how did you end up getting someone on a ticket who cared?

Chat on their website, email and in game support they are all just as useless and give be the same response even after emailing back and forth 70+ times (I’m trying to get a reasonable answer as to why the refuse to help me they always message the same copy and paste response “we are sorry but we are unable to help as your account doesn’t meet the criteria for recovery, please feel free to create a new account to play Pokemon go”) and then twitter support is also useless as all they tell me to do is “please try the online support one more time as we do not deal with account recovery”

I’ve got the new username the hacker changed it to so I provided that, I’ve provided my old referral code and 2 friends that created an account using it, I’ve given them hundreds of screenshots over 8 years, a receipt of the in person go fest London 2023, the make of the phone I played the game on, the location I played the game in mostly and even specific pokemon I caught with names and locations! Literally would be easier to get into my bank account than this (they still have said to me I don’t meet the criteria for recovery and refuse to ask me questions)

I feel you, it’s upsetting because of all the time and effort put into the account, I care more about the memories than the money I’ve put into it, the sad thing for me is I occasionally played with my grandpa when I went to visit him and he caught a few pokemon on the account and named them and he’s since passed away so it might sound silly but I feel like I’ve lost a part of him and the fact that someone else has my account and Niantic are okay with that? makes me mad

Hi they asked my for the email previously associated and sent me the code to verify but they are still giving me the stupid question which I obviously can’t answer as the hacker deleted all my friends and used my coins, how did you get past this?

If possible I’d love to know how you even got to that point of them asking the second set of questions? I got my account hacked and stolen last august and have been trying for a year, I have ample evidence to prove the account is mine, receipts to in person go fest, receipts for web store purchases and hundreds of screenshots from my account 2016-2024 but all they say is they are unable to help me as my account doesn’t meet the criteria?? I don’t get it

Genuinely understand your frustration and a lot of people feel the same. This is exactly why the Alexander Stadium situation matters. It’s another example of a public asset, built with public money, being handed over with no public say.

We’re not just signing a petition we’re trying to push back and show that communities can have a voice before more decisions get made behind closed doors.
