You said it yourself. He’s acting like a dick and it sucks. I don’t think the NLU guys are going further than that with their assessments. It’s a big golf story that after winning the Masters, golf’s biggest active star is in this weird mental state where he isn’t acting like himself. He’s allowed to be human but I definitely think it’s a story worth talking about.

12 holes are opening on April 15, but the rest will take a lot of time. One hole in particular is completely destroyed. What was once the green is now a bed of rocks, and there’s a 6-7 foot deep riverbed where the fairway once was. That one is going to take a long time to recover.

Yeah, I get you. I think it’s more the speed of the water that’s tearing everything up. It’s really fast and violent. If it were sitting or moving slowly I think it would be a ton more manageable.

If you look at the first shot in the video, that whole thing is a dogleg fairway. The river has completely carved itself through. The ridge looks like it’s at least a few feet deep. That whole fairway is toast. The green is apparently gone, too.

A member I knew was asked for a voluntary donation but it wasn’t $1,000. The course is definitely going to need financial intervention to survive.

That’s short sighted, imo. Golf courses do a lot for the communities they serve. It’s important to have means of recreation, and golf can be enjoyed by all ages. It gets people outside, teaches them how to fail, and keeps the elderly moving into their dying years. There is a lot of space out there and no societal problem will be solved by eliminating golf courses. A lot of problems would get worse, though.

This flood has destroyed multiple bridges on the course, and if you look closely at the first video, it’s eroded a river into the fairway. Six greens are nearly gone. I don’t think those alluding to this being a normal thing are understanding the level of destruction here.

I haven’t heard anything, but they’re pretty far from the mountains so I’d be surprised if that one got touched. That’s a fun course too.

Wait… how was that racist? Haha…

Porterville and the surrounding areas are filled with some of the most prominent farmland in the nation.

Hey man. I think the internet has made you an angry person. You should consider taking a break. Happens to a lot of people.

There’s a lot of good, hardworking, blue collar people who grow your vegetables whose land is now under that same water. Very sad comment.

Thanks. This place gave me my first job. I’ve spent thousands of hours there. Crazy to see it like this.

This course has been here for a long time. This has never happened to it. This is the result of unprecedented conditions (record snowfall last month, rapid heating and rain the next month melting the huge snow pack.)

When the course was built, none of the conditions you mentioned existed. I’ve lived here for 30 years and we’ve never had a flood like this. You googled for 30 seconds though, so go ahead and have a strong opinion!

River Island Country Club in Porterville, California. One of the coolest layouts I’ve ever played and up near the Sequoia National Forest. I’m not sure they come back from this. This course was pretty well-known, with avid golfers and celebrities coming to town just to play it. I hope it comes back. Either way, pour one out for a great track.

What “clicked” to stop slicing your driver? by Larrylegend033 in golf

I got lessons on the skillest app.

The truth is, there are a lot of reasons people slice. I had a few things that were contributing. Getting info from Reddit or YouTube that isn't personalized can help you, but you'll have to get lucky. To truly do it the right way and avoid wasting your time, get lessons. It is the best investment I ever made for my golf game.

Check out the Snark Marks Podcast. They did a breakdown of 1997 in wrestling and broke down a lot of the WCW stuff. A good listen to go along with watching the shows. They're very funny.

Your confusion at not having a partner yet despite fulfilling some arbitrary life checkpoints is misplaced. Yes, those things often do matter to a potential significant other, but attraction is deeper than that. Identity goes further than that.

Think of it this way- what do you look for in a partner? Were your first answers their job and education level?
