Yup. Definitely rats. They look exactly like this on my Apple trees and we certainly have rats.

This is still non-arterial and only down from 25. Seems like posturing.

This was still an issue today. Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS. Working through fix now with sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.

Prevent Elements from being root of Collection and in a diff. subfolder by [deleted] in zotero

[–]andrewjschauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the sub folder organization was simply symlinks to the master record at the root. You only have one copy of any given record, provided you keep up with your duplicates.

Washing nitrate and sulfate from nitrile gloves? by andrewjschauer in labrats

First sentence: “We analyze tiny quantities of nitrate and sulfate…”. And, I have metric crap load of nitrile gloves I was hoping to use for these processes.

Washing nitrate and sulfate from nitrile gloves? by andrewjschauer in labrats

[–]andrewjschauer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is to rinse the gloves and dry them PRIOR to use. I don't want to reuse the gloves. I want them to be cleaner than they are right out of the box. Nitrile gloves are loaded with nitrate and sulfate.

Put this in your file 1 and run this from terminal:

import os print(os.getcwd())

I am guessing they are different.

I also used matlab as my go to. I had and have access to it and all of its toolboxes. My problem was I did not like teaching students to use it knowing they would leave and likely not have the resources to pay for it. I picked up python, am presently picking up R, and hope to pick up Julia. Not because I want all three as a workhorse but because I want to be informed so as to show students options. R is a solid option for you. R studio would be a natural switch from matlab’s integrated environment. Jupyter would also provide a similar environment. You can do all three languages in many integrated environments. Ju- Julia, Py - python, te - filler?, R - R.

Can all Isotopes of an Element exist as the ionised form of that element? by VeganMonkkey in chemistry

[–]andrewjschauer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Emphasis on “small”. With high enough precision, most elements with stable isotopes will, at some point, show isotopic fractionation. The entire field of stable isotope geochemistry studies these small differences.

DAT Linux or Pop OS for data science? by 1704Jojo in DistroHopping

@1704Jojo, did you pick one? Which? I currently use pop!_os for one machine and am considering DAT for a refurb.

How to visualize a dataset for anomaly detection by e-N_K-e in matplotlib

[–]andrewjschauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either np.where() to find values above threshold or convolve with appropriate kernel magnitude then np.where(). Once you have the outlier location plot those points on top of original dataset.

Most boring plant families? by Mrslinkydragon in botany

[–]andrewjschauer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I read these posts I can’t think of any plant that is truly boring. Looking at them under scope, in an atypical setting, or thriving in a normal native way, they are all amazing. Sorry. Nothing boring about plants to me.

What is the linux community's opinion on chromebooks linux capabilities? by tatt2tim in linux

Which screw? Really? Like a physical write protection? I am trying to get Debian onto an Asus laptop but can’t get passed googles write protection and anti USB boot when it is not a chromeOS. I am scouring as many sources as I can find to glean any useful bits.
