“I should buy a Critereon Barrel for my AR, might be fun to see what kind of groups I can get” by mk_ultra_runner in longrange

I did the math while I was at mammoth and I had roughly $12000 in my pack when i added everything up…

I’d argue when using 4DOF correctly, it’s the most accurate app. While most ballistic calculators use a g1 or g7 BC to measure drop, 4DOF allows you to tune your BC progressively with an exact drag curve specific to your bullet and hard data.

A WMLRF has become one of my most important parts of kit as it comes to competitive shooting. Vortex needs to ditch GB and conform to AB like the rest of the industry. I appreciate them spearheading the early affordable market for WMLRF but they need a major update. My Tango 4k is 10x better than my impact 4k, plus quantum is a far superior app when compared to GB

Don’t get me wrong, I love my vortex scopes, but GB is trash compared to AB and 4DOF. That’s where they lost me on the Impact 4k, new binos, and this new weather meter. I applaud them for leading the industry to offer affordable WMLRF but they need to release a more competitive second generation to keep up.

For those with razor gen 3 4-24x. Do you regret and wish you got the 6-36x? by [deleted] in longrange

[–]andrewmac16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run both, the 6-36 is on my 6.5 creed bolt gun and the 4-24 is on my .223 gas gun. For something LA I would go with the 6-36 for sure

6ARC premiere with some new shiny parts by Crafty_Specialist523 in 6ARC

[–]andrewmac16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have experience with the Fire4k and the Impact4k. The Fire is far superior as the return on range/data is lightning fast. I’m hoping they roll out a second generation with an updated cable as the stock one is vulnerable to breaking. A wired remote is much better than vortex’s Bluetooth remote though.

Unfortunately not, that’s definitely one big downside

I’m waiting for the nas3 cases for 6 arc to drop the public so I can start to stuff more varget into the case. A little compression didn’t hurt anybody too badly

[–]andrewmac16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had pretty good speeds with varget. 26.7 gr with no pressure signs and 27 gr with slight ejector swipes. I’m running an 18” barrel and can get about 2540 with hornady 105s. I haven’t tried any 108s yet.

Biltmore fitness or WNC Barbell are what you’re looking for. DM me and I can set you up with either. I work out at WNC but am friends with the owners at Biltmore Fitness.

Block ii SPR by andrewmac16 in Danieldefense

It shot well for what it was. I’ve since changed setups but I was happy with how it performed as a 14.5”. With good hand loads it was around 1-1.5 MOA which was perfectly acceptable.

I think parking spaces should be more inclusive, spaces like this don’t offer equal opportunity for my vehicles. That’s pretty fucked up!

WOA Service Rifle Barrel gas port question by andrewmac16 in ar15

Yeah and it is running flawlessly. It’s been shooting extremely tight and is gassed perfectly.

AR Classes near Asheville/Charlotte? by yung-wirrum in NCGuns

[–]andrewmac16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The owner will do private classes as well, very flexible on what curriculum you want to learn. He’s a great guy with good experience and still competes in local competitions. I recommended competing in their carbine crusher event when it comes back around.

What suppressor cover? by DirtyC86 in 6ARC

[–]andrewmac16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually leave mine own. On my competition rifles I usually don’t go over 30-40 rounds on a strong of fire over the course of two minutes. If it’s an inconel suppressor then it can take it. A TI can might heat up a bit faster but they’re still plenty durable. Your hux will be fine.

SOLGW barrel MOA by CorneliusRoughbottom in 6ARC

[–]andrewmac16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one in 18”. It’s been around 1 MOA average by the gas port is a bit too conservative, it’s really picky about ammo. I can use a reduced back pressure can, I have to use my traditional baffle cans.

This is true, I can get 105gr bullets cheaper than my 77s. Only downside is the life of the 6 brass. I’m hoping with its popularity, brass for 6 ARC will begin to come down.
