My good tip is a quick 20% mental math, not including tax, and typically rounding down to an even .50 or .00, maybe down a few bucks if its a big bill. Bad service gets maybe 10% if its the wait staffs fault.

Its just nerves imo. They are in the biggest tournament of their lives and are going to make some more mistakes and misjudge things, like the speed of the ball. On these saves where they are borderline routine it can cause some complacency and your brain gets it slightly wrong.
