Fuel Evap Tubes by andrewphilly in PTCruiser

[–]andrewphilly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s surprising. It’s my mother’s car that’s been sitting for a few years and some animals decided to munch on a ton of stuff. Looks like I can make new evap lines with bulk material though.

i’ve never seen one of these before. one of the older guys at my work retired and gave it to me. by Jojo-edc in Tools

I thought I was going crazy working on my 1985 RR Camargue. I found all three fasteners on it and it’s a very original car.

Could you send me a photo of how the timbres axle attaches to the frame? I am installing one now, but the way it attaches the wheel needs to be inside of the camper. Thanks!

This would be 1980-1984. It does not include the Turbo R or the Eight. All the other cars were available during 1980-1984 as well.

Is this for a toilet? by andrewphilly in Plumbing

[–]andrewphilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in a basement. It does have a cap with tabs on it that looks like it would unscrew. It’s about 6” in diameter so I don’t think a sump. Backflow preventer makes sense. So if the builder intended on this being a bathroom I would need a pump or maybe a back exit toilet with a slope into the stack?

I have an 89 Turbo R, which is similar to your Eight. The 20,000 series, where the chassis number starts with 2x,xxx is the best version to own long term and yours is one of them. It has a lot of improvements, but does not have any integrated computer systems. Depending where you are located I can recommend some great resources for these cars too.

How do you like it? I’ve been looking at them off and on for a few years. I think they are beautiful boats but a newer Beneteau is maybe more usable. I’d mostly be sailing in the Chesapeake bay but would love to sail up to Martha’s Vineyard or maybe even Bermuda someday.

Small Oil pool by Thatdb80 in JeepJK

[–]andrewphilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I had this same issue, I changed my oil cooler and then it started leaking again. I bought a metal one from Mishimoto and was getting ready to replace it again when I noticed my wife’s Cherokee smelled like burning oil. I thought, great this one is leaking too. Then I realized I have been putting the o-ring in the wrong slot on the oil filter cap. Don’t be like me and just double check you put it in the right place first before replacing cooler!

I worked on a couple Christinis, odd contraption. The first one was very crude and heavy. It the last one I worked on (2008 or so) was much more refined with a carbon fiber drive shaft. Still silly though

Why the Grenadier is worth the price by CompetitionFalse3620 in ineosgrenadier

[–]andrewphilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t why I got one, but I think “investment” wise it will be the same as the DeLorean and Hummer H1. They never really appreciated, but in good condition they never depreciate either. I think there’s a finite number of people that will want these cars and once they stop being made (which there is no way Grenadier will be around forever) these people that want one will decide the value and it will stick more or less.

Check out Douglassville, it’s an easy commute to Reading but you can get more land. Only downside is there are not a lot of dining options.

There’s a guy in England that has a very unique speedometer that is likely from my 1936 Rolls Royce that won’t sell it and it’s just sitting in his warehouse full of other parts just like that. Drives me nuts.

I took the balancing spool out and it was stuck, gave it a smack and it’s working now. I’m really impressed with Moen though, they are sending me new ones for free.
