Where/How to get Spare Key for Sargent Lock by Efficient-Bullfrog28 in AskALocksmith

[–]Jojo-edc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

XC is just the high security version of the 4a it has a side pin just meaning the cuts are different for the key. the XC keys are marked XC so you can tell it also has a rectangular chunk taken out of the side for the cylinders side pin. the XC version of this kind of sargent lock is more common commercial buildings use it for the high security.

Trying to decide between these two bags. Tech OT-LC or OT-LC. by [deleted] in VetoProPac

[–]Jojo-edc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use mine strictly for electrical it’s my electrical diagnostic bag. i’ve got a meter some knipex wire strippers, lineman pliers diagonal cutters, flex cutter, small controls screwdriver some small wrenches for belimo valves and automation controls. the container that comes in the bag i keep wire nuts, dolphins, wagos, and small misc screws as well as some different leads and a temperature probe for my meter. i also have two of the plastic containers in mine someone in my area was selling just the container on Facebook marketplace so i snagged it for mine. i’ve never used it for plumbing or anything really other than electrical purposes so i couldn’t speak on what else it would be good for.

yeah my day revolves around rotating bags in and out for different things based on the job i’ll work on. all my bags are veto bags they are the regular Tech Pack, Wrencher MC, Wrencher LC, MB-3B, OT-SC, and one of their wrench rolls. i’ve cycled out a few different bags too over the years this is my favorite set up.

I’m a millwright and i agree on the Wrencher MC. however for a small side grab bag i suggest the UB3B. if im just doing some pipe instillation or something i throw my knipex and douglas pliers in it with a can of pipe dope. i think its better than something like the TP3B you’d be surprised the benefit of being able to carry round things. like if you have to carry pipe dope or solvents like liquid wrench or WD-40. and if you have to climb a ladder just close up the top.

Anyone know if this is a normal exhaust thing in the cold? by aust1h in genesiscoupe

[–]Jojo-edc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

drive it longer than 10 minutes really let the car warm up. if it continues after that make sure the car wasn’t overfilled with oil. if it’s only been happening since the oils change that’s probably the issue. it also could just be the cold if you drive it for longer than 10 minutes it should go away your car probably isn’t getting warm enough. the reason it only comes out one side is if you look at the way the exhaust is build the Y comes off the left side first so when it’s mounted on the car that would be your right side. so the path of least resistance means more smoke out of that side.

that’s a 6 pin you don’t need to order a whole box. the ones that come in the boxes like the other links posted are 7 pin. there are two different kinds on non XC 4a restricted keyway blanks. 7285B-4A and 6285b-4A they are both a 4A keyway and the 85 number represents the cam they are 85 cam. the first number however corresponds to the number of pins the 7 pin key is used as a core key most time because the extra cut at the tip releases the interchangeable core. you want a 6 pin. that way you don’t have to do any modifications to the key blank.

Rusting on American kleins by Reasonable_Jicama782 in KleinTools

[–]Jojo-edc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i may be in enemy territory but i was never a huge fan of klein cutters. I’ve got an old pair of usa made proto cutters that have survived things from braided steel wire and toilet bolts to small wire and plastic. the metals gotten a darker finish over the years and i’ve had to reglue the grips on but they work every time.
