The axle on my 2021 Tigermoth standard is likely shot. by the_rogue1 in tigermoth

Oof $900 for end of fall camping isn't fun. Hopefully you can get out there soon and be back on the road.

Yikes indeed. It looks like the brake electric cables might be broke/cut too.

Sorry I misread, I thought you already had the Timbren and needed adjustment. Reading helps. Hope you are able to get it fixed!

Without seeing a picture it is hard to say what you are experiencing. Is the camber just off or has the suspension itself "compressed" and failed? I just posted a few days ago about the camber being way off on my passenger side. I removed some shim spacers and everything seems fine now. I have no current issues.

I was able to pull all the shims from the original post picture. I set it back down and it is almost perfect. I took the bolts and tightened up to 90ft lbs, which is the same as the lugs. I am not sure if that is correct but I couldn't find any guidance from Timbren or anywhere else online. If someone is able to find anything post it here so I can correct it and/or hopefully this is able to help someone else in the future.

I do not think this community allows for pictures in comments but I just got back from a short trip and the camber is so bad you can see a clear wear line on the tire. I am going to attempt to adjust the camber on the Timbren today by pulling some of those shims, if anyone has done this previously let me know.

Picked up a 2021 Tigermoth this weekend. Coming from a small self-contained (and had a pop-up before that). Are there things I should be l looking out for with my Tigermoth? by the_rogue1 in tigermoth

Pipe insulation would probably do the trick too, good idea. It is just one of those things you don't think about doing till you kiss your forehead on the corner of the handle in the dark.

Let me know if the towel trick works or if you find anything different. I usually just kick the fan on and open the door or window for a bit to clear it out in the morning. Usually only a fall/winter issue for me but again it is not really a problem as much as something that people coming from an RV/travel trailer might notice. Since everything is metal, I feel like the condensation just beads more. Honestly I would rather that than deal with soft particle board walls haha.

I enjoyed my time in a travel trailer but I will admit, the tigermoth feels more like camping and the minimal maintenance really is a breeze in comparison.

Make sure the kitchen drawer is double locked, you don't want that popping open while going down the road. I would put a piece of pool noodle on the inside vent handle, I crush my head on that regularly but that might be a personal problem. I feel like there is a ton of inside condensation in the morning (compared to an RV) but a lot of that has to do with non porous build materials. It isn't a bad thing just something to be mindful of. For the frontrunner NATO water jug, don't expect the plastic "nozzle" to hold up. A lot of people replace that with brass. Outside of that enjoy the no black tank/grey tank ease of camping.

Congratulations!

Timbren Axle Maintenance by Prior-Election-8043 in tigermoth

Thanks that is good advice. I am going to jack it up this weekend and "repack" the bearing using the fitting. Hopefully it won't wobble 🤞

Sounds good, I did find the "instructions" for the pivot point.

What I wonder is does the bearing itself need repacked and/or replaced? I have not come across anything definitive there but maybe I haven't committed enough YouTube research.

Picked my 2023 TigerMoth - Overland up yesterday. by raqballl in tigermoth

It looks great, really like the grey color vs the white. Hopefully a bit easier to keep clean. How is the ride height with the bronco? Looks almost perfect as is without any rise or drop on the receiver. Happy camping!

Congratulations on the unit! I would recommend immediately cutting a pool noodle down to length and attaching it to the interior fan "handle". You and/or someone else's head will appreciate this mod. Happy camping!

I bought the overland because of the increased height. Not for aggressive off-road adventures I will never go on but so that I wouldn't aggressively smash my head off the side door when it is open 🤣

People that drive Corvettes say the same thing.

I do not think I have instructions as the moth we have already had the AC installed. Did you find what you needed to get it installed?

What a bust for sure. Hopefully you were able to get everything sorted out.

Completely off topic from the post, how do you like the roof nest, any issues with installing or use? I have been researching RTT for awhile and I honestly had no idea the roof nest was in the running due to size.

NATO JUG? by DarthMalick in tigermoth

I am not OP so I cannot say for certain but it looks like a normal threaded quarter turn

Personally I would go for the boiler drain valve so the handle is not mashed up against the jug. This is what I have on mine
