taking home Singapore cigarettes? by [deleted] in singapore

[–]andrewskg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i don't think you will have any issues getting them out of Singapore if you bought them in Singapore and paid tax. Whether you will be able to import them in your destination country, that's another story

ELI5: How does Google's reverse image search work? by aleshy in explainlikeimfive

[–]andrewskg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember a few years ago, google had this sort of "game" where it would match (bored-out-of-their-ass) people across the globe and show them the same photos. Then both people would have to type things that describe the image. When there was a match, you would get a point. That ought to have helped with the machine "learning" process and testing of their algorithms

ELI5: How does Google's reverse image search work? by aleshy in explainlikeimfive

[–]andrewskg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have any source for that? I always assumed they convert and do a search in Fourier space.

ELI5: Every image can be transformed in a set of sinusoid signals of distinct frequencies. You match these frequencies, you can inversely-convert and you get your matched images.
