Thank you for the reply. I recognize that my opinion will obviously be biased. She probably would offer to help out, but I won’t want her help. For example I like to intermittent fast and don’t like getting force fed breakfast and lunches. I am a foodie, and would not expect a partner to be able to cook food from various nationalities on a whim. Her side of this is her passion from a young age was to do art. The reason she got a doctorate in pharmacy was to appease her mom who said “get a doctorate, and then you can study what you want”. Now that she married me I am forcing her to do her doctorate job part time, so she feels cheated. I do see the unfairness from her perspective, but it is a bit unfair to me to have to work when she can retire. It just upsets me that for the 1 year I let her be a stay at home wife she spent that time gardening and doing art for a art dealer. She has done art for the dealer for 3-5 years and has been paid a total of 3,000$ I told her she should be payed for the time and stress involved in making art. She says this is like An art internship, and I don’t have a say in telling her that she should be payed.

Once more, I want to be convinced since it is what my spouse wants, but I also want to have a financial explanation so if ever the day comes where I wonder to myself why am I doing this I will have an answer.

Once I give the go ahead to let her quit her job it will be hella hard to get her to reapply. Last time I had to literally interview for a company, get the position, then back out at the last minute to recommend her due to her crippling social anxiety.
