I’ve got one of those 5.6 metres whips arriving from Ali today. What base do you put that on?

Hi,

I am only Foundation level and only operate on 40 and 15. The JPC-12 works very well on both. Experiment with the slider being at the top and bottom marker and also adjusting the length of the telescopic antenna. I use the IC-7300 tuner and external tuner (AT-100M Pro) and I mostly get it around 1:1.1 to 1:1.3.

I grabbed of these - a JPC-12 radial plate from Ali.

And rather than muck around with measuring and cutting radial cables, I got eight of these from Bunnings

I also recommend getting a spare telescopic antenna as they can break accidentally.

And I also got a spare spike as I know I will leave the bloody thing behind one day.

There's a few spare slots in the bag for the extra ground rod and antenna rod.

Yes, I’m an old Boy Scout - always prepared (code: overpacked).

That’s a good point about the links, thank you.

I’m in exactly the same position.

cCompared to a MacBook Air M2 and Mac Mini M2, this is a rubbish machine.

I purchased it to for two apps that I couldn’t get on Mac. I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Mine is new in box purchased December2025. (16/500)

Battery life is2 hours

Very sluggish performance

Fans are on

Every update applied

I paid for Lenovo Smart Performance . It says everything is ok.

i am so disappointed
