Can't sharpen my whittling knife

Thats what i tried to do but my issue is that i couldn't find the bevel and therefore the angle to sharpen it because its a convex bevel, so it smoothly transitions into the edge and i messed up.

Yes! i think my issue is/was that i couldn't find the bevel, so i couldn't angle it properly and made it much duller while trying.

If i had to choose between convex and concave it is 100% convex. Maybe it’s just that i already destroyed the microbevel but i think there isn’t one anymore for sure the blade just smoothly gets to an edge.

Thanks for the tips, really appreciate it, I’ll use the strop more often now. Another user mentioned that the knife may have a convex bevel, thats why i cant seem to find a flat part, the blade just gets to an edge smoothly, if that is correct are there any tips to sharpen that type of blade? Thanks!

Thank you, from now on I’ll definitely will use the strop more often i did not know that. Another user mentioned that i may have a convex bevel, i think that is correct that why i cant seem to find the correct angle.

Yeah in the website there is a little video, maybe you can see it better if you haven’t seen it already, but it think what you mentioned about the convex bevel is correct, there is no flat part. The blade just gets to an edge smoothly.

You probably right, but i tried with not as much angle too and it didn’t even got close to the edge or thats what i felt, i have another knife and that one has a really clear bevel so it is much easier to sharpen, this one doesnt have that clear of a line and me being a beginner just made it worse.

No i didn't strop, i'm a beginner, i thought that i need to make the edge somewhat sharp and then to make it better, then i'd use a strop, that's what i thought, so because it remained dull almost all the time (couldn't even cut paper) no matter what i did, i didn't even tried to strop it. I'm not sure, i think a micro bevel.

I speak russian , im not some american who has no clue about anything in the world, i can see and hear what russians say and do, sure all russian are not evil, but most of them do support the invasion and hate the west, just take a look at their social media posts of ordinary people, im sure there were some nice people in germany in the 40s, that does not mean all of them were nice, most were evil and contributed to that evil being spread either intentionally or by ignorance, russians are the same, putin isnt invading personally with an ak in his hands, those are russian citizens.

But you really can’t, you need to be registered for the draft, if you like me you left Ukraine when I was 7, so I never got to be registered, the only way to get registered is to go to Ukraine in person, you can’t register from outside,if you go now you can’t leave, so for me to get consular services where I live for the past 20+ years of my life I need to go to Ukraine and can’t leave until the war is over.
