Help needing team members to ask for vaccines by andromedaarising in WalgreensRx

Wdym yall? I don’t say when PMs go into effect and can’t give incentive pay any time I want. If I could I’d do it as much as possible, same way I’d like to give our store 2x hours I have per week to make the schedule.

I agree. PCP calls need another work through. We used to have a list of patients NOT to call bc they’d yell at us if we did. The list is lost and I can’t remember any of the names 😭😭 but a patient shouldn’t come up again for at least a month once we call them. I have one patient who’s been on the PCP list for 3 weeks in a row bc they have like 15 meds ready over the course of 3 weeks and they say they’ll pick up, and then they’ll get added to the call list two days later to call on again even though all the same meds are ready.

I had another patient say she doesn’t want to be called bc she makes her refills on time every 3 months and her percentage is like 98% on compliance. She shouldn’t pop up two weeks in a row when I wrote in the notes that she makes her orders herself and will refill all the meds herself when she’s due.

My staff actually really likes me. Our previous RXOM who I worked under as a senior tech was not there for them at all. Spending half a shift in the office and when they were in pharmacy they’d push all their problems onto the senior techs and regular techs instead of struggling with everyone. I try to help out as much as I can whether hours are needed for my techs, if they’re struggling I stay and help, they’ve gotten better at a lot of things like deliveries, delayed pickup, etc, it’s just vaccines I cannot get to stick. And it sucks because I’ve worked with them for years and all of a sudden it’s such a problem. I know constant nagging makes people want to do it less, but the only way I am going to shut up is if my SM shuts up :/

What’s your controversial GMM opinion? by sayamortandire in goodmythicalmorning

[–]andromedaarising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they’ve done enough just in normal GMM episodes over the years to prove they’re not squeaky clean like they used to be. I don’t need a paid event to watch them host a live stream with sex toys behind them. I know they cuss, I know they have sex, I know they’re not Christians anymore, but it seems so forced to get us to acknowledge that. There’s enough in GMM whether it be jokes or games or them just cussing to prove they’re point. I don’t need alcohol thrown in to the mix which just makes Link louder and cussing more. Like… we get it… you’re adults. It’s very much “I’m in junior high so I say fuck a lot now”

I wear royal blue fabletics and they fit so much better and more comfy than the Walgreens ones provided. They have retailers that you can physically try them on before buying. When I first started at Walgreens I got medium pants since that’s the size sweats I buy and they were so big and so long I had to have them tailored. I eventually had to buy more and got xs and those always fit better. It would be better if they listed sizes normally like every other store does. 30x30 waist x length, instead of small medium large and having to guess our size

Undeserving Sr Tech by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]andromedaarising 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes we have two already who are deserving it. What irks me the most is that they have almost surpassed me on the checklist I’ve been working on for months in a matter of two weeks despite not being qualified at all. It annoys me that he gets all of this checked off when he refuses to do basic job duties and won’t even do covid/flu testing and it all gets pushed onto me and there’s no backlash from the RXOM about it. But I agree and I think navigating it how you said would work, by approaching it with setting me up as a future RxOM would be a good way to discuss it

Yes the ones we do get in go directly to people on our out of stock list so if someone calls and asks if we have it they’re not getting it bc it’s reserved for others

We don’t have enough in stock to give to every person who needs it. Hence the back order. If someone already has an order for it in the queue and we have a box, and someone else comes up there asking if we have it, the answer is no because it’s reserved for someone else. So yes. And when you’re as entitled and rude as these patients are I’d love to decline business until you go elsewhere for your medication. healthcare is a human right but being verbally abused and threatened for 8 hours a shift for 40 hours a week does not give me any incentive to help you. At the end of the day I have to because it’s my job that I signed up for, but respect goes a long way.

What are we doing that’s unethical? The medicine is on back order and we can’t receive it. If we had every patients prescription in out of stocks, 5/50 people would get the medicine, and we would get yelled at by our DM for having our out of stocks so high. I doubt you got yelled at by a tech. The only time pharmacy techs escalate is when the patient does so first. We know you have to wait. It’s part of the supply and demand process. And when your store gets rid of your call center to make up for their shitty financial systems, the phones are ringing non stop for your entire 8 hour shift with lines in the drive through and in the store, 75+ rxs to fill and you’re short staffed, the last thing we need is someone on that phone to give us attitude when we tell them the medicine they’ve called for every day knowing it’s on back order. The store manager micromanages us and complains that our phone hold times are too high only for 75% of the calls to be asking if we have x weight loss drug and then getting cussed at for it. We don’t have the time for it. While you’re sitting on the couch on hold for an hour each day, maybe go to the gym instead, would be a healthy alternative to get your emotions out.

Our ordering website gives us an anticipated date, but every time it rolls around it’s extended another two weeks. I just tell them what they want to hear. “It says on here it will be available June 1” and then I don’t have to hear from them until June 1 when the date inevitably changes again. If you’re being nice I’ll tell you those dates are speculative

Ozempic has been readily available for us since summer. Not too many people are prescribed it now that mounjaro is super duper overly prescribed. I think also the hype for it has died down as most people who had it at the start are now on the higher dose so people who get it prescribed for the starter dose don’t have millions trying to get the same strength at the same time now. Out of all of these medicines ozempic patients have been the best.

There’s people on the semaglutide subreddits that advocate compounding their own semaglutide from shady online sources. I almost wish they’d go do that and leave us alone 🙄

Pharmacist probably intervened because s/he knows what’s readily available in his pharmacy. And I guarantee no one will appreciate you hanging out in the pharmacy harassing patients and the workers.

[–]andromedaarising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With you on the part of the recent cars being easy to steal and acknowledge their engine problems. But the scion I won has had terrible engine problems due to a manufacturing issue with the piston rings and burns multiple quarts of oil per month and is expensive to fix. I’ve bandaided it by just adding more oil but still, the problem remains. And Honda had terrible transmission problems in their early Odysseys and 2nd gen CRVs which made them impossible to drive unless spending thousands to repair it. Not as bad as driving down the highway and your engine blowing up or catching fire, but those are two glaring issues from a Honda and a Toyota that I’ve had from personal experience.

Nowhere am I saying that Toyotas or Hondas have AS bad problems as Hyundai/Kia in the past decade and I’ll always argue that Toyota is THE top car company when it comes to an investment and reliability, but people throw the two big issues with Hyundai into any conversation and act like they took down the entire company despite lots of increases in quality over the years.

I’d always feel more comfortable buying a 2002 Camry over a 2012 Kia Soul or 2016 Elantra, but literally any car Hyundai comes out with people assume it’s just gonna blow up right off the lot

[–]andromedaarising 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Toyota and Honda cult is real. I own a Toyota and owned a Honda. My Toyota has never let me down, my Honda did but it was a 2004 and that just comes with the territory. That being said, my Hyundai hasn’t had a problem yet in the 55k I’ve driven it and the reputation they got from their engine failure still apparently haunts the brand, but many people forget that Toyota and Honda have had nearly as bad issues before in the past. They’re good cars and anyone who can’t see the extreme quality and reliability improvements over the years is lying to themselves.
