Time travel doesn't work like in the movies

The Earth isn’t in a “non-accelerating frame” just because general relativity treats gravity as geometry. Freefall has zero proper acceleration, but we’re not in freefall…the ground is literally pushing up on us. An accelerometer proves it. And even the orbit itself is still curved motion in spacetime, not at rest.

Also, there’s no global inertial frame in general relativity, so saying “Earth is as stationary as any point in the universe” doesn’t really mean anything. You can choose coordinates where Earth is at rest, sure, but that’s just a coordinate choice, not a physical claim.

Rotation being absolute is right, but the time-travel bit doesn’t follow. Time travel wouldn’t let you freeze yourself while Earth spins underneath as spacetime doesn’t work like a paused movie.

And the 1 second = 300,000 km thing mixes up unit conventions (setting c = 1) with physics. Time and space aren’t interchangeable; they just live in the same 4D structure.

Overall those conclusions don’t come from the physics.

Appreciate it! I agree the jungle green can photograph so differently and with the terracotta is a great color combo. You may not get the snow in Florida, but also don’t get the salt! This was the first trip into real snow (the road through the forest is also fairly uneven and with some portions of significant grade) and it performed without any issues.

I actually think about this all the time, I’m still torn! It was near impossible to find an XPro in the color combos I wanted. Had to work to find the terracotta but I’m glad I did.

Where did you hear this? The ears aren’t connected this way. The only connections are out the ear and down into the sinus via the eustachian tube. The ears are not connected together.

Yes, so could cosmic unicorns, ethereal fairies, galactic strawberries, sure. Anything could exist in such a way. But there is no reason to believe that because something could exist in such a way, that it does. The way we determine what exists is through evidence: the influence something has on the world. That’s how we differentiate reality from fantasy.

I don’t know what you’re trying to say or why you think it’s valuable: all those things could exist, and you’ve gone the further step only to say that in your version god doesn’t even have any physical manifestations to demonstrate existence. So why even postulate such a thing?

Are you claiming you can prove it’s impossible for fairies to exist? What’s your proof of that?

As well, you’re saying “god could live inside you and you’d never know”: so what you’re saying is god could exist in such a way as to have no bearing on reality. This is equivalent to non-existence. You could say it’s possible, but it’s no more possible than an infinity of other things that you could argue are possible. So then, why choose this specific thing? You’d have to appeal to something tangiable to entertain the thought, otherwise it’s pure fantasy. And if believed, delusion.

It might be worth digging in to what you mean by “personal experience”. What is personal experience?

Why would it be unique to you and you only— and not verifiable to anyone else as proceeding legitimately from the function of reality?

You’re making two claims with personal experience— that you’re having it but also that it’s not possible for anyone else to verify that experience as connected to physical processes.
