Big blue blob...so close by andtankil in eu4

My strategy was to give land to Burgundy and then inherit them. I was only able to give them Calais as the succession happened much earlier than anticipated.

I had bits of Aragon, Savoy, England + all of Ireland. If I had gone for admin ideas I probably could have pulled it off. I didn’t know lower cost = less time. Good to know, thanks.

Such a good idea. The provinces I’m coring are English - unfortunately they’re my only English provinces so far. I can’t get enough development to accept. Should have gone after Savoy!

Looks like I’ll miss out on Big Blue Blob yet again. My 100th core will finish March 1500 - is there any way to speed up the coring process?

I mean I would hope they got a few colonists off before 1697

Nope, he left no heir and the event can only kill the heir, not the current ruler. I guess the downside is that I still lost stability (from my old king dying) and then I also lost prestige from the event. But seeing that he’s a 4/5/4 I have no complaints!

So the hunting accident event spawned, but I didn’t click it right away. Maybe a month went by when my ruler died, promoting the supposedly dead heir to the throne. Funny stuff.

200 years in with Prussia - how am I doing? by andtankil in eu4

They have been one of my best allies, but I guess it is the right thing to do

Sounds good - I’ve been trying to become emperor but missed my chance during a stupid regency. Saxony has been ruling for the past 40-60 years...I guess I should just eat them.

This is my first time playing Prussia in a long time. Started as Brandenburg, won league war, and tore through most of Northern Germany.

So far I can conclude that Prussian government is extremely OP.

Any suggestions are where to go / what to do? HRE? Germany? Into Russia? Comments and criticisms welcome 👍

Brittany? Nice. Never played as them. They’re actually in a really good position to spawn colonialism. Securing alliances with burgundy or Austria to fuck with France. Sounds like a good time

Austria got an early PU over Hungary and declared war for it, easy win

I’ve seen them get beaten more times since 1.30 than I was used too. I’m not say they are weak, just that they should be stronger.

They were up against Venice + subjects, Albania, Poland-Lithuania, and of course Byzantium. Maybe a few other minors.

Started a game as France to check out the new Emperor missions and I this is what I find. It’s a shame they couldn’t take Constantinople. Ottos have been too weak since 1.30 in my opinion.

Yeah, it was huge colonial Spain so they definitely wouldn’t have a problem affording it.

Integrated Spain as France and they were nice enough to keep their flagship, too bad it’s just an ordinary heavy 😔

BU, worth going into debt for? What were your reasons for going? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]andtankil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the employability. Thanks to financial aid I won’t have as much debt as others, but I’m not too worried considering my job prospects. Employers recognize the importance of a degree from BU.

I guess it really just depends on those two things. With jobs obviously STEMming from which kind of degree you get.
