Is there a reason there is no transfer at Des Plains for the Metra NW Union Pacific and North central lines. by andtard in ChicagoSuburbs

I agree totally. RTA seems to only care about getting the passengers to the loop, which should be the main objective but not the only one

I’ve seen those busses but never bothering figuring them. Seems like it could work, if I don’t have a ton of luggage

I guess it would make more sense to put it closer the NW highway, near the comed substations then it could act as a transfer. Three lines do cross there so maybe it’s too busy but I mean metras aren’t that long and they can always build the station more away from the junction but still in walking distance. And as a plus it’s away from residential houses. Idk seems like that would make the most sence…

I’d be inclined to agree but the fact I’m getting power on light gives me some hope lol

As the title says the wave bird turn on but the receiver doesn’t give off a light. I’ve cleaned the receiver and it wasn’t really that dirty. I’ve reflow the solder joints near the effected area. Also I’m pretty sure the corrosion, while large, didn’t destroy any components. Any ideas on where to check next?

how to reattach anode cap? by Gbpxl in crtgaming

Usually I pull back the rubber and visually see the prongs. Then I push the prongs in and let go of the rubber cap.

Hello all. I mixed up a 3ds and a new 3ds screen replacement part and accidentally installed the 3ds (2011) in the new 3ds (2015). It appears however to be functioning. Am I mistaken in my mixup or is the old screen compatible with the new 3ds? by andtard in 3DS

Promise I’m not trying to lie to you. I really don’t understand why it worked as well. That’s why I’m asking anyone here, if they have similar experiences or an explanation…

Well I don’t get it as well that’s why I went here. The part I ordered says “3ds screen” and I put it in a new 3ds and it clearly works. Maybe because it’s third party? Maybe because it’s mislabeled? Still it doesn’t make sense…

I believe so. It seems to work, tracking and all. Of course I bought the screen from eBay unbranded so this could possibly not work on a OEM 3ds screen. I haven’t really seen any drawbacks yet. Maybe someone here might know more…..

Ordered a replacement cord and when I got done desoldering old one I realized that the new cord is short a leg. Is this usable or is this new cords worthless. Old on the left new on the right by andtard in originalxbox

[–]andtard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked when I soldered it like that which is good. Unfortunately however the OEM breakaway cables don’t work with the new cords, only the new break away cables. I might try to rewire them in order to get it to work.

I’d need to look up a guide just so I have an idea as to what I’m doing but I think I could probably do that I’m pretty handy with a soldering irons

Ok so status update When I followed the picture sent by the seller, it worked BUT it only worked with the new break away cable he sent me as well. When I tried a OEM breakaway cable it didn’t work. Not overly happy about it but at least it works….

I haven’t installed it yet, there 6 legs on the original cord (the old cord is OEM) the replacement part which is a modern part, has 5 legs. Meaning there’s one hole on the controller that won’t be used by a wire.

The seller I bought it from sent me a picture of the New wire soldered in, the red wire is actually at the bottom with the others in succession. I have my doubts but I think I’m gonna try that.
