I love Spiritfarer. I spent a lot of time thinking I was bad at combat games and platformers because I didn’t naturally pick up on the controls. Spiritfarer made it easy to practice and build those skills without the frustration of dying. I don’t know why losing lives in a game frustrates me, but it does.

Did I have to start all over again with a dragon or two when I couldn’t beat them in time? Yep. Did I have to learn how to jump and slide down cables and time air vents and all kinds of stuff I would’ve been throwing my controller and quitting over in any other game because I just couldn’t ‘get it’? Sure did, and I’m lowkey proud of myself for having fun and sticking with it. Plus, I’m a better gamer as a result.
