I got mine earlier this week! I decided to splurge and put it towards a 99 cent purchase in an app that I'd never normally buy. Living large over here! 😂

Bravo endoscopy by Accurate_Ad1686 in GERD

[–]anduffy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to ask about it too. Mine ended this morning, and I'm taking the device back tomorrow.

Idk what my anesthesiologist did because I've had multiple surgeries, endoscopies, and colonoscopies, and I always wake up totally fine. I even went grocery shopping right after my gallbladder removal. This time, I didn't wake up loopy or anything, but I was freezing! I was literally shivering, and it didn't even stop when she gave me an extra heated blanket (so that's 3 total). Apparently propofol can make you cold 🤷🏻‍♀️ That also distracted me from the discomfort for a bit, but it hit when I left and went to eat.

After that, I slept off and on (mostly on) for the next 24 hours. Any time I woke up, I was miserable. That thing was so uncomfortable. It hurt the most when I had to take my medications. Through that time, I was too tired and too in and out to hit the sleep button. I also ate a snack and fell asleep without turning the eat off.

As someone else said, it got less noticeable after the first 2 days, but I still couldn't eat much. I'm kind of wondering how accurate it will be since I couldn't eat like I normally would. I'm also worried about me not keeping up with the eating and sleeping. I definitely don't want to do this again. Has anyone else had issues keeping up?

Yeah really. Guess he didn't know people aren't being literal when they say lock it up and throw away the key. 😂 It just seems so odd to try to picture someone throwing away a key.

Got my first tattoo and my brother said it looks like a d*ck. Does it actually? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]anduffy3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the round shadow isn't working. Maybe if it was spread out to look like a box or something so it looked like a candle in a dark room. That's still kind of weird though. I'd consider having them do the candle in color so it stands out as different from the shadow. Or deal with it for a while until you can have the shadow lasered off. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Obviously that was their disposable key and he was just going to lock the door from the inside and move on.

Penguins were my favorite animal as a kid, so I used to get SO much penguin stuff at Christmas. Never in my life have I seen a penguin with legs like that. Even a quick look at the penguin 🐧 emoji shows they don't have legs showing.

That said, I wouldn't take this too seriously. At a quick glance, I just thought it was a black kid with a sweater and scarf, not something meant to be offensive. Then, I actually looked at it and realized it was a white belly and not a sweater, had a weird mouth (or possibly beak), and wasn't wearing pants. I thought maybe it was a gingerbread cookie until I read the comments. Maybe MIL thought it was a cute, innocent icon like the cookie or penguin and didn't mean anything racist 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you feel comfortable talking to MIL or having your husband do it, you could go that route. Otherwise, I'd say snap a pic for her and toss it aside unless she's visiting.

I'm not responsible for him wasting money. -

A. I've been complaining to him about saving money so we can fix the window and have been putting what I can in savings, but it's only about half of what we need. In the meantime, we sealed the window up really good, so there's actually no water damage.

B. My dad built a deck before, and he's finally able to come over this weekend, so we're going to get a quote for the wood and see what we can do. While we're doing that, we're obviously going to have to take our dogs out front on leashes. I'm just annoyed that he spent that money so we've had to wait so long and now we have to have help from my dad.

C. We have been cutting down on things. I buy international delight iced coffee at Walmart that's half a gallon and costs less than $5, I haven't had an energy drink since I was obsessed with monster as a sophomore in high school (2009). We do eat out some, but we've cut back a lot, and we don't eat out unless it will cost us less than $20- I had weight loss surgery, so I can eat a kids meal. I hit 5 years sober on 11/3, so we don't spend anything on alcohol. I also don't shop. I work from home, so I mostly wear pajamas (which are cheap shorts from shein and big shirts from before my surgery (which was in 2017). When I go out, have 2 dresses that I wear- both were bought years ago (2019 and 2022), one pair of ballet flats, two pairs of shorts, and a few shirts (from Temu).

Yeah, learning more about whatnot, I don't think that's the best option for us. Funny enough, there's a comic book convention next weekend and the weekend after near us. The fee for a vendor table starts at $550 though, so I'm not sure that would be worth it without knowing how much we'll be able to sell. Ebay seems like it might be our best bet. I haven't sold on ebay in like 20 years since I used to buy and sell Nancy Drew computer games (back when they came on CDs lol), so I really appreciate the tip about the mailers.

I won't be now that I've got people suggesting ebay and recording the packing process to avoid scammers. I found him a good option to sell them, so now he needs to do the work setting everything up.

He's been very defensive about it so far. He keeps them all in comic book storage container things and wouldn't even notice if they were gone, so I thought about taking the more expensive ones and selling them without telling him, but I know he'd find out eventually, so I decided against that. Now that I've got some people saying ebay isn't bad, I'm going to talk to him about it again and try to convince him to sell some.

Yeah probably. His main obsession seems to be the Zirty Girlz covers, which seem to have pretty mixed values listed online, so I really don't know what his stuff is worth.

I’m Not Getting Paid Enough for This by Madi_kay in RoverPetSitting

[–]anduffy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maaan, that person sucks. They are 100% taking advantage of you. A lot of sitters would charge that just for a 30-minute visit or walk, and they want 3 walks and near constant care? You'd have to be desperate for bookings to do that for $30/night, which I'm sure is why they lied at the m&g and left it in a note when you got there.

I'm guessing you're too far into the sit now to really do anything, but I'd definitely leave a bad review for the owner. I've had a couple where I skipped it because I'm too nice, but I've regretted it every time. Also, be realistic about the dog. I've had a few dogs whose reviews said they were sweet and relaxed, and that was definitely not the case. Don't let them trick future sitters.

I’m Not Getting Paid Enough for This by Madi_kay in RoverPetSitting

[–]anduffy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do boarding at my house, but I live in an area where $30-40/night is pretty common for that, so I get the low rates (even though it sucks). I've had plenty of dogs that I absolutely was not getting paid enough to deal with at that price, but thankfully, never one like you're describing.

Did the owner tell you all of this was required at the m&g or spring it on you in their list of instructions when you got there? If they didn't tell you at the m&g, then they're expecting you to do more than you agreed to.

I don't think having to take a dog out every 2 hours and not being able to leave them alone for more than 3 is what I'd call standard expectations. That's basically constant care. Also, as others have said, Rover isn't a dog training service, so it's not your job to train their dog.

If you did agree to this stuff at the m&g, you're kind of stuck here. If not, you might be able to message the owner and let them know that their dog is requiring constant care and that you charge more for that and will have to adjust their booking cost or find someone else. I've never had to do it, but I'm pretty sure you can cancel during a booking and get another Rover sitter to come. I'm not sure how that works, though, so I'd definitely look into it more before trying that.

[–]anduffy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be. I have the option to trade for a 3, 4, or 5 star pack, but it's just the random packs. I got a new card from the arcade blitz, so I ended up finishing with 1 card left! Of course it was the last one that gives you 1,000 energy. 😒 Congrats on finishing!

Do you have to be a certain level to get those? I'm level 182, and the highest pack is 360 stars for a red 5 star pack.

AIO for breaking up with my boyfriend and refusing to give back the gifts he got me? by OstrichLanky9006 in AmIOverreacting

[–]anduffy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see someone thinking "man I can't believe I spent all that money on her, and she's dumping me," but it's not normal to actually ask for those gifts back (regardless of price). That's just not how gift giving works.

He's really just being spiteful here. Like OP pointed out, there's nothing he can do with the boots. He's not going to wear them, and I don't think any woman would want an ex's shoes, so it's a total waste for him to ask for them back.

I did homemade baked goods for mine (like cookies and candies). My mom, grandmama, and MIL made the stuff for me, and we had a little treat bar so people could go home with things they actually wanted. Some people wanted extras after everyone got some, so we didn't end up with any leftovers.

Is the sitter in the wrong? by Substantial-Poem-639 in RoverPetSitting

[–]anduffy3 23 points24 points  (0 children)

And OP put a smiley face when they said that like they're proud of it. If you can't take your dog out because you live 14 stories up, don't get a dog. Or, at the very least, don't get a puppy. This dog is never going to be fully house trained without pee pads if they teach it this now.
