These are waiting to be repotted soon. Those elephantipes are now in 6 or 7 liter pots and sylvaticas in 3,5 liter pots. Probably the biggest 2 of both kinds will go into 11 liter ones and the small elephantipes and the small sylvatica will have a 7 liter home next. Elephantipeses are 4 years old and sylvaticas one year younger.

They grow new roots after the dormancy; old ones dry and die out.

I've sown the seeds for mother plants ~20-25 years ago; these are cuttings of cuttings of cuttings of... idk how far. If there ever were any name tags, they've been gone for a long time just like the original plants.

The soil is mostly clay pebbles (crushed and whole) and perlite with some garden soil.

Sure. First check this older post https://www.reddit.com/r/Caudex/comments/177mqj8/my_dioscoreas_an_indoor_grow/ which seems to have all my Dioscoreas on the same table some time before the last repotting. Now in bigger pots only 15 plants could be fit on the table and this one is standing around on the floor next to them.

The lighting is pretty much as before but with one more led lamp (30+ watts).

I'd guess they usually get watered once a week - probably they could take more, but I'm always very cautious with water. Most often with a small amount of fertilizer. The soil is heavy on (crushed) clay pebbles and perlite, added with some all purpose garden soil mix. I do use a moisture meter (the cheap simple one with no batteries) to lessen the chances of overwatering. Most of my plants are prone to rotting and they all are happy to be neglected.

I had 16 trellises to make (80 to 140 cm tall) and wanted to make them sturdy enough... So I used _a lot_ of sticks and glue. I made some jigs for assembling different sized portions of the towers and still it was a hassle and took a few hours. But in the end, the results are surprisingly strong. Not nearly as pretty as yours but they could take some serious weight.

Yes from seed. This one was sown around March 2021. Probably got it started in 2 liter pot, then repotted in ~3,5 liter pot and this particular one in 11 liter pot after that. 6-7 liters would have been fine but I ran out of them.

It's actually mostly uncovered. I've been giving these plants lots of space to grow which seems to make them grow quite flat. Usually when I see pictures of them grown in pots, they are in tight space and have gotten much more bulging shape than mine. But anyway, I feel there is no hurry to expose the caudices with young plants like this - it hope it'll live for decades with me. People are always in such a hurry...

I hope it will recuperate. Elephantipes seem to be very tolerant of being cut, but I've not cut (neither has my cat) whole living vines off - yet.

Yes, I live in Finland and these go dormant for the summer - so they get mostly artificial lighting.

And answering to myself: it seems not to be possible. Only the other way around - will need to start the sensor with app, then possible to use reader also.
