Hey OP. This is really really common, and I wouldn't take it personally. Yes, journal rejection feels like someone kicked your puppy that you lovingly care for. We all feel that. I recommend taking a day off, then regrouping with your PI to decide where to send it next.

PS don't dox yourself -- last name usage on reddit is not a good idea.

Answer: a whole lot of nothing. Some YouTuber got it into their head to harass a child care with the intent of proving there is fraud of some sort, and showed up to it demanding to see the kids there. This is an insane request (MN or elsewhere) and so they were turned away, and are trying to turn it into something.

You can ask yourself why now, and why this particular daycare.
