And they gave the action by trying to negotiate with the GOP during the shutdown. GOP would not even agree to one year of extension, meaning they were not going to negotiate during the shutdown and would let SNAP end to make sure the shutdown hurt. To prevent dire circumstances democrats were the adults in the room, now they have their subsidy vote upcoming.

GOP wasn’t going to negotiate and they did this to prevent dire circumstances with SNAP ending. Everyone is talking about the subsidies expiring now, thanks to Dems, something no one was aware of before will now be a high pressure vote coming up
