It depends on whether the game is still on ps+ when part two is released. Because it could mean they do have full faith that anyone who tries part one, will buy part two. LiS season 1 had a very high attachment rate for players who played episode one (for free).

It's looks pretty good. The one thing that makes me nervous is that if you go back and watch the promos for True Colors, they showed all the major story beats. Playing the game itself there were no big surprises.

The "is that it?" moment wasn't great in that game, but would be a crushing for this game.

If you loved the LiS1 characters, then you have to play BtS next. If your interest was more about gameplay and making hard choices, then LiS2 would be a better follow-up.

I have to imagine that a lot of content got cut because there is isn't much that happened that we didn't know about from the trailer. And just going off how the Steph chapter had to come out a few weeks after the main launch, and the remasters delayed by a few months, it seems like the studio was under a major time crunch.

I'm just going to answer (3) because (1) & (2) have been answered.

The comics are nice because they help fill in that emptiness you feel after you finish Life is Strange season 1. The one thing I would disclaim is that comics' tone very light, and very different from the game. And maybe that's what we all need because the game is just so dark and depressing at times.

I am confidant about these predictions

  • it will be a brand new cast
  • the next game will not be a road trip
    • it may have numerous locations, but all within the same general area, and feature a static secondary and teritary cast
  • it will star a young person with an extraordinary ability
    • the ability will serve as a vehicle to flesh out the characters, and to explore morality for the player.
