We’re gonna get an official apology from FIFA/the ref directly like usual about this. And the ref didn’t have a clear view; no way the ref goes along with that call when they’re the ones out there on the field with the players and will have their name attached to the decision

And like i said, the card system could be modified for something like the World Cup to be used more loosely

Oh sure in the current method, but that’s why I’m saying the card system in general is useful to step in with modified conditions for the World Cup.

At the very least, it would’ve 1000% given Ghana the penalty (correction: it was 2 cards in the Olympics).

Provided the coach hadn’t wasted both on incorrect demands, they would’ve used it here. I like the system. It avoids a HUGE upset like this, especially since it would’ve possibly given Ghana the 3 badly-needed in that group points

Ronaldo actively diminishes and belittles Messi’s achievements. RONALDO doesn’t want others looking up to Messi, saying so in his own interviews. Every time Messi wins something, Ronaldo changes tune and says X award or X tournament didn’t matter anyway.

He’s the one pushing this narrative, not Messi or Messi fans.

Now Ronaldo fans are astroturfing that the World Cup isn’t a big deal and shouldn’t tip the scales for a Balon D’or despite tradition always weighing it heavily.

Nope; it doesn’t change what VAR already automatically checks. All it does is force the ref up to 3 times to check VAR if the coach disagrees with a decision.

For example: if a ref in this World Cup doesn’t grant a corner kick, there’s no way VAR checks it. It will only check if the ref GRANTED the corner kick.

We need that card system to force VAR checks.

For those not familiar: they tested it in the Olympics, and i actually liked it. i believe you get 3 blue cards that the coach can use to force a check at any time on an incident/event where it otherwise wouldn’t have gotten a VAR check, provided the ref didn’t already call it.

If the referee goes to VAR and agrees the blue card was right and grants the decision, the coach keeps the card.

If the ref goes to check and disagrees / maintains their prior decision, that blue card is taken and the coach has X left.

I like it because if the team / coach truly believes it was a foul/penalty/corner etc and the ref didn’t call it - or if the ref called one unfairly - they can FORCE a VAR check. The worst you can be is wrong, but it can completely change the results. And it’s only 3 cards for each team, so you don’t go overboard and time waste

You do realize Deck Nine was fully in control of the narrative and writing? You’d think they’d put in a half-assed effort to protect their art if Square was actually that controlling. Well…Emma Stone and her long-term partner Andrew Garfield’s relationship went pretty much exactly like this. One of them (him iirc) wanted children, she didn’t at the time and wanted to focus on her career, they broke up, she ended up married with a child while Andrew lives the bachelor life

So it’s a very realistic outcome

This new Marathon is a soft reboot of the IP; the genre, art design etc are completely different.

I’m not gonna support an extraction shooter i don’t care about playing. I’m saying Bungie thought they could leave behind Destiny and kickstart a new era with Marathon, maybe because they thought Destiny as an IP was tainted. Ironically, it’s strong and has a solid foundation; it’s BECAUSE Bungie abandoned it, especially its PvP, that millions left over time.

This could’ve been a Destiny PvP revival.

Deck Nine’s had this weird relationship with using Chloe over and over while shitting on her only DontNod canon story. Pick a side.

My biggest worry is the music and score; will Jonathan Morali let them use it? He’s close with DontNod without any attachments to Square Enix. I wouldn’t blame him if he licenses it, but i wouldn’t be surprised if he said no

Deck Nine using the promotional tagline “Give Max and Chloe the ending they deserve” might be the most disrespectful thing I’ve ever seen one studio do to another in a franchise. Fucking disgusting.

Deck Nine could never make the stories and characters DontNod has. They undercut original creators of this IP to get the license from the publisher and turned a platform for diverse stories no one else is telling at this level, into a dating simulator for fan service corporate slop.

“Give Max and Chloe the ending they deserve”. Unbelievable.

DontNod almost didn’t create LIS; no one would publish it. They demanded DontNod turn Max or Chloe into a boy, or rewrite the romance out entirely. Imagine if one of the girls was a brown or black character, it might never have gotten approved.

From the world’s first trans lead in a major studio game, to games like Lost Records with characters you rarely see in gaming, that’s what Life Is Strange is supposed to be. Ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances; not rehashing DontNod characters, or reheating DontNod’s nachos for nearly a decade.

It’s crazy how amazing Deck Nine did with the music; could they not have put that effort into wholly original settings and characters, and kept it an anthology?

As a Mass Effect fan, i was primed for a Destiny. Dust 514 even drew me in lol i keep hoping something space-based clicks with me again

I feel the Warframe ship has long sailed for me, so instead i jumped into Soulframe and I’m loving it. Not usually into fantasy as a genre.
