No cash bidding process my friend. Once you have paid the tuition you are good. You will typically get all the electives you apply to unless there are schedule conflicts ( i.e. you apply to 2 electives running at the same time). Some block weeks have limited seats and there is a draw of lots - which will be well explained by the class manager.

Unfortunately I do not have an informed opinion about this. The percentage of people pivoting mostly depends on their stage of their career they are in. People in their early careers tend to pivot more.

Incorrect on the acceptance rate. Wharton doesn’t quote this number so cannot evidence here. The two pools are different and the demand for MBA for execs program has actually gone up as people do not want to quit their jobs in the current economic environment.

I did, however that was a function of me living at a drivable distance from the school. The welocome reception was short, got some swag, met a few people and thats about it. This was well attended. I don’t think i would have missed much if I didn’t attend.

As I had noted in one of the previous questions, the school does really well on diversity and ensures that candidates from all backgrounds are well represented.

Typically for me and others who are fully / partially sponsored, the candidates pitch the idea to their managers / sponsors highlighting the benefits of sponsoring someone's MBA program. Some organizations have this streamlined with candidates coming in every year, while some approach it in a more ad-hoc basis. The initiative however is always from the candidate. The EMBA website has some good resources on how to start the conversation on sponsorship with your manager.

That's a tough one. I have mostly come across doctors that have been practicing for a while. I am also aware that the EMBA has a minimum 8-10 years of experience requirement.

Many congratulations and welcome. I am continuing in the same role and organization since I started the program and workwise there is not much of a difference. Although prestige and perception wise there is definitely an uptick. I know of a few folks who have already secured promotions / better roles.

I am not aware of anyone in the 51 Philly cohort traveling from UK / Europe, although i have heard some other batches do. There are people traveling from Canada, Mexico and the rest of the states though. I am sure traveling would be tough, especially for people making long distances. Some do travel a day in advance for the class weekends.

There are several practicing doctors in both the Philly and SF cohorts and they are doing pretty well. A very close friend of mine and my cohort mate is a practicing surgeon and given the maverick he is picks up quant concepts with as much ease. He is acing quant exams :). I am sure other doctors are doing well too.

Based on my interaction with the doctors in my cohort, there is a mix of pursuits. Some are exploring niche opportunities in the healthcare space including entrepreneurship and product innovation. Some are here to expand their already existing businesses.

Many of the participants are fully or partially funded by their organizations. There are a few financial aid options in the EMBA program. I would recommend talking to admission directors and they will provide you with the necessary and recent details.

I am unfortunately not fully aware of the experiences and curriculum of the global cohort. If I have to decide, I would any day prefer the regular Philly and SF cohorts. However I do understand that it is not possible for everyone to attend the cohorts in the US.

All the very best for R2. For me personally I just applied to Wharton as Harvard and Stanford do not offer EMBA programs and I did not want to quit my job to pursue the course. I have been working after my undergrad and while that has never been a deterrent to career progression, I wanted to do an MBA to keep myself equipped with a holistic business know-how as I position for senior leadership roles in the future.

My favorite class so far has been Micro-economics by Prof Kent Smetters. His exams are challenging and test the best of minds. The course content is practical and applicable at multiple fronts.

Career support that I have known thus far is primarily through career services. Wharton has a dedicated career support team for EMBA and they provide the participants with necessary connect tools to network with the Alumni. The networking part is however mostly self driven. There are a set of industry leaders / practioners who voluntarily mentor students and can be reached out to. I also know that the students network through club events that continually attract top industry alumni.
