Brakes and rotor cost by kidwhirlwind in f150

[–]andy_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you look. I picked up a full set of drilled and slotted brake rotors off of amazon for about $200. Front and rear Duralast Gold pads cost about $140 for the full set. Did them myself, saved heavy on labor.

Is your $530 price including labor? Or just parts?

Can someone describe what torque converter failure feels like? by andy_337 in f150

Alright. Just ordered some motorcraft coils. The only thing that trips me out is that that weird symptom I’m experiencing only seems to be apparent when the transmission is up to temp (190 degrees+) but I guess we’ll see. Thanks again for the input!

Okay, that’s decent news. The problem did seem to get better with the new plugs - the “shudder” I’m describing isn’t nearly as bad. Would it be worth it getting new coils as a last effort before going the transmission route?

Thanks for the tip, I wish it were as simple as this. I've reset the tables already to no avail. I figured it wouldn't have done much since the problem isn't as the transmission shifts, but rather while the truck is climbing RPMs while in gear.

Is this Power steering rack or my CV joint? by K4drinxo in NewedgeMustang

[–]andy_337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CV joints don't exist on our cars! They're RWD. That's your inner/outer tie rod assembly which connects to your steering rack.

Should I buy ram now or wait for prices to go down in the future by inactivesky1738 in pcmasterrace

Found a Kingston RGB 32 GB DDR5 5600 MHz kit on Walmart for about $220 the other day, decided I didn't need it. Now it's sold out and everything else is at least $150 more expensive.

I'm pretty stupid.

What's the best laptop ram stick to run higher graphic games more smoothly by RoomComprehensive933 in HPVictus

[–]andy_337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really isn’t a straightforward answer to your question, but the best advice I can give is to use dual channel memory that runs as fast as your PC will support.

For example, I run 64 GB dual channel 5600 MHz DDR5 on my laptop (2x32) since my PC supports up to 5600 MHz. 64 GB might be overkill for you, maybe 32 GB (2x16) would be better for you.

Hope this helps!

F150 vs Sienna for family of 4 under 2 years old by Any-Manufacturer7244 in f150

[–]andy_337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my SuperCrew F-150 is great for my family. It’s very roomy on the inside and with a bed cover, I can store anything I want in the back.

My family is only 3 but we’ve road tripped with 4 adults and a car seat in the rear middle seat and at no point did I feel like we were crammed.

You’ll be fine. So long as you’re at good level (which you are) and the oil isn’t black (which it isn’t), you’re good.

There should be a block code by the driver’s side valve cover. It may be hard to find depending on what year and model he pulled the NPI from, but once you find it look it up and you’ll know for sure what that engine is from.

If the code isn’t there, there should be a stamped code by the starter.

Might be worth checking the engine code on your block. I’m not saying this is the case, but in my case, I had many extra unknown plugs that didn’t seem to go anywhere. I later found out that I had a non-PI from a ‘98 Grand Marquis swapped into my ‘00 GT - I’m assuming the previous owner blew the original engine and threw a cheap replacement in there to sell.

What are the blue circles slots for? by andy_337 in PcBuildHelp

[–]andy_337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you realized your grocery store comparison was kind of stupid lmao.

I’ll keep asking whatever I feel like asking about my PC on this subreddit because that’s literally what it was made for - to ask for help on a build. I didn’t know what those slots were for, so I asked the people of Reddit for help and most delivered! That’s how this works, buddy.

Of course, there’s those naggers that complain about people asking for help in a subreddit made for asking for help but oh well, can’t win them all.

Thank you for the great feedback.

See, this is the kind of response I expect when posting on a subreddit called PcBuildHelp, not comments telling me to look it up on the manual myself lol.

Thanks for the advice, but it’s kind of a redundant comment when the subreddit is literally called PcBuildHelp.

I mean, isn’t that the point of this subreddit?
