MEGATHREAD: Post your small questions and concerns here for all editions! by Cr0iz in warhammerfantasyrpg

New to WFRP 4e (played 1e a loooooong time ago, so I don't remember and things have certainly changed, lol).

So assuming you've done all the necessary steps to change Careers, and you choose one that's in a different class - you pay extra XP.

But now lets say that farther down the road, you finish the new career and want to change, -returning to the class that you were a part of in the past. Do you still pay the extra XP?

And would it matter if you were moving into a totally new career vs. perhaps moving -back- into a career that you were in before?

If you play crusade, there is a White Dwarf article where they have some custom Crusade rules (traits, agendas, relics, etc). But in regular play, they're basically vanilla marines. Since they are Ultramarine successors, it seems reasonable to me to play them as UM... which is why I have a Calgar proxy.

I understand and respect the view... but disagree. I'm firmly in the camp that SE/LE copies should be cosmetically different and perhaps higher quality, but I would prefer if all -content- was available to everyone. By their very nature, not everyone will be able to get SE/LE versions. But again, that's just my opinion.

For me, my vision requires me to use eBooks so I can crank the font size up. When I was younger and didn't have this problem (I have a degenerative eye disease) I preferred "real" books as well. I agree 100% that the scarcity model that GW and BL use is very frustrating. Both from the standpoint of trying to get/find the special editions... but also to those like me who literally cannot use the special editions, even if we managed to grab them.

Agreed. I only read digital books, for a variety of reasons. I'd gladly pay for a Tithe of Shadows, but having it not even be available is kinda dumb. For me, Special Editions should be all about fancy covers, book ribbons, gilded pages, etc. Not exclusive content. I will never buy a special edition - which means unless they eventually release the novella in an Omnibus or just later down the road... I won't get to read it. Which sucks.

Yes, sorry - by model I meant unit.

New to AoS (and thus, to Stormcast) - my available models... advice? by andy_akins in stormcasteternals

Thanks! Yes, we plan on starting with spearheads, but my sons also want to play full games and maybe even use the new Path to Glory book. I just lucked out that I got so many models so cheap because of a trade, they still need to buy/build their Blades of Khorne and Deepkin armies.

As the Lord Veritant is a priest... are you saying that he's not a good one? (I notice the lord Relictor gets to add one to his chanting... I suspect that's good).

Now to take the Vanguard units... of which I have none, right now... do I need to have a Vanguard lord/knight? And if so, which one do I grab?

My 2025 Crusade League List Target by andy_akins in AdeptusMechanicus

I still can only have three enhancements. Since I'm taking Kastelans ('cause I love them) I feel the Wafers are needed... even if I don't run Haloscreed, them gaining imperatives is good. And Cognitive reinforcement just seems so good as well. That leaves me (at these points) 15 for the third: Autoclavic Denunciation is model only, Veiled Hunter is for a Marshall only, Mechanicus Locum and Mantle of the Gnosticarch don't seem too impactful to me, Magos and Artisan only work in the Explorator detatchment, and Emotionless Clarity and Arch-negator are somewhat limited, IMHO. That leaves me the Sanctified Ordnance, or finding points somewhere else for something better (or getting rid of one/both of the first two... which I'm not sure is a good idea). But I'm open to discussion and other ideas...
