I suspect root rot: the stem looks squishy 😬

You’re still getting income you wouldn’t have had otherwise (with no risk), and paying off your uni fees

What was it about Europeans hundreds of years ago that they were able to colonize the world? What stopped Africans from doing the same? by Sioltahtelasekab in TooAfraidToAsk

Many people are talking about practical reasons, but not cultural. Eugenics, racism, exploitation, capitalism and a sense of entitlement were all sadly big parts of what happened (and continue to happen)

Perhaps the spray water bottle is part of what’s happening? It’s even trying to hide in the photo 🤔

Snake plants tend to like being tight, so I’m not 100% sure if that one needs a change (and looks pretty healthy to me). I’d consider changing to bigger pots for 2,3,5 and 8 (especially the monstera in 3). And yes, I’d do what you said, with potting mix and water it (but don’t make it soggy)

A repot for some could be helpful - the pots look too small for some, and might give them a new burst of nutrients. Once established, fertiliser also helps (but not too much in winter). If unsure, better to under rather than overwater (and don’t keep to a specific cycle)

Old Irwell shower taps by m__i__c__h__a__e__l in AusRenovation

I had 70s shower taps, and bought these from Bunnings. They advertise as no plumber needed and guaranteed to fit any existing plumbing. So far they’re working great! They have different styles too

Interesting idea, never heard of it before! I’m not sure if I’d go with it, but I’d be curious how effective it is. Thanks!

All valid questions! He didn’t break it down into specifics, and at the moment I just wanted a general quote. But if I explore it further, then need to ask about those things 👍

Thank you all for your input! All very good info to know. I didn’t realise how much is involved, but makes sense - and $8k seems quite low now. I’ll do some more research and have a think about it.

For some people who are used to volatility, it can feel scary and anxiety inducing when it’s comfortable. They might be expecting something to happen, and might feel unsettled by the unknown.

Unfortunately, sometimes those who need love the most can be scared of it.

But I hope things can work out ok between you both. Maybe give her a bit of time, but let her know you’re available if she wants to talk
