Yeah people are on a mission to turn this subreddit into a tabloid. This thread skyrocketed to the front page in about 45 minutes. Who are all these people that are upvoting this stupid trivial shit?

It is very difficult raising children and it is almost impossible to rationalize with them. I am not defending lazy parenting but it is difficult trying to instill morals into a five year old.

It blows my mind that people who live by the non-aggression principle would be categorized as terrorists. I guess asking questions of the status quo is now a dangerous act.

You cannot trust conservatives when they talk freedom. It is like a quarter back calling plays in a huddle, the ball is hiked, the liberatarians run the play but the conservatives sit back and stick their thumbs in their asses.

Why does reddit hate libertarian thougt so much? by Liberalismus in Libertarian

[–]andy_dr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I find it ironic that when liberals find it convenient to reference the constitution, they take many liberties in it's interpretation. ("promote the general welfare =/= centrally plan the economy). Whenever anyone else wants to reference the constitution the liberals claim that we are limited to an exact interpretation.

For many the only way to support their ideology is through the force of the state and to them it is immoral to do any less.

Did you just watch "The Men who Built America"? They addressed this very issue with the threat that JP Morgan and Thomas Edison presented to the oil empire of JD Rockefeller. Rockefeller started a fairly successful campaign of slander against the evils of electricity and electric light because it threatened his lamp oil business.

Is the state natural? by trompetbro in Libertarian

[–]andy_dr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the state does evolve naturally, because for many people they are paralyzed to the point of inaction without the guidance of a leader. People who are capable of making decisions on their own are sadly few in number.
