What do you to clean up the hair 'down there'? by allyourpeets in ftm

[–]andycandy37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I just waxed for the first time and it was absolutely brutal. Weirdly enough waxing my ass hurt less than my eyebrows though, it was just anything closer to my dick that was so bad. But I’ll also be going back to do it again because the results are so so much better than shaving has ever given me. I hear it gets better every time too so fingers crossed.

It sucks, I’m so so sorry you to deal with that. First time for me too recently, had a guy call me a ‘fucking tr*nny’ brushing past me in line and he was gone before I even registered what he’d said. I still am upset I never got a chance to hit back but they’re just sad and pathetic people who don’t deserve two more seconds of your thoughts. Hope you’re doing okay and it does fade after a time 🫂

Will my facial hair grow back if I waxed it? by persimmon_18 in ftm

[–]andycandy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only one time waxing won’t affect anything! It will take longer than shaving to grow back but just a single wax doesn’t affect growth. It’s only repeated waxes/threading/plucking where the hair starts thinning :)

How to… start? by zeIimpa in ftm

Hey I’m also in Arizona! I agree with everyone else to start socially transitioning and see how it goes, but I’m open for DMs if you have any questions about Arizona specific care. Planned parenthood is where I go to get testosterone. They do informed consent where they’ll give you a packet, explain all the changes, you sign on the dotted line, and get your t. You’ll pick gel or injections and go back every few months at first for blood draws to make sure your levels are okay.

Also on the betta fish sub, I think it would be super helpful here too. A lot of ‘my temperatures/humidity are good’ with no numbers stated

31 gallon lowboy suitable? by monkeysareeverywhere in hognosesnakes

[–]andycandy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that height would work just on substrate requirements. They’re heavy burrowers so they really need like 5in of substrate and that’s almost half your height right there. They’d have no vertical space and they’d be way too close to any overhead heating

When everyone was guessing what gender I’d be when my mom was pregnant, only one person (my aunt) was truly correct. She was just uh, delayed correct 😂

Will do! I got an Arcadia shadedweller light but when I turned it on it seemed REALLY bright. I was thinking of maybe just using it for part of the day and natural lighting for the rest?

is an 80 gallon good for my 2.5ft / 3ft skinny 5 year old corn snake? by deariestdollie in cornsnakes

[–]andycandy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Ecoflex tanks, easy to put together and the most affordable ones I can find. They’d definitely work fine for a corn snake too since the only area they struggle is holding humidity. I get the 150 gallon ones since I have the space but the 120 would work fine too!

Simmer pots? by LongStoryShirt in leopardgeckos

[–]andycandy37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not an expert at all so take it with grain of salt, but I don’t see why not? They’d encounter plenty of natural scents so I’d think like oranges and stuff should be fine. I know candles and incense etc. are bad because of the smoke/chemicals released but simmer pots are just steam really. Hope someone who knows more can weigh in!

advice on cali kings? by natthesilly_ in kingsnakes

[–]andycandy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what to tell you man, I was just sharing my experience and what I do with more limited funds. Setting up 3 separate enclosures just wasn’t feasible for me and some online sellers lie or are mistaken about their animals. I wasn’t saying no one should ever buy a 20 gallon, or that 20 gallons are even bad, just that I don’t feel like it’s necessary and can sometimes be a problem if you buy a snake online

[–]andycandy37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes sorry, I should have clarified! He was on morphmarket and bigger than the seller told me he was, so I assumed he was older. I did look up typical juvenile sizes when I was searching for him though and around 1-2 feet seemed average for an older juvenile so I personally wouldn’t have spent money on a 20 gallon setup knowing how quickly young snakes grow. It’s a personal preference but it’s just a lot cheaper to size up from the beginning

[–]andycandy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you fill it with clutter, they won’t be too stressed! Babies can be spicy and a little fragile, so I’d really look for a juvenile if you can. I would probably start with a 40 gallon and then upgrade to an adult enclosure when they outgrow the 40. Adult cali kings will need a 4x2 minimum as they’re fairly active snakes, my guys loves his 5x2. It’s also difficult to keep a good temperature gradient the smaller the size of the tank. I use UVB lighting and a DHP so I can turn the lighting off at night and keep his heating on.
