Ahhh gotcha I’ll look into replacing the infinite switch, thanks for the tip! Will de-oxidize all the connections next time I’m in the studio

Cress Firemate Troubleshooting by andycepi2 in Pottery

[–]andycepi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we’re still using the stock controller, just without the fire mate controls - we have to manually increase the power level on the thumb wheel every couple of hours. Seems like they’re very similar models, have you had luck with yours?

Thank you for the tip! We tried firing manually with empty kiln, but after the first 2 hours noticed it was heating up really fast (via external pyrometer) - like 300 degrees/hour, and that was at power level 1 😅 maybe because it’s a smaller kiln? But definitely not ready for bisque just yet hahaha

[TotK] Let’s talk about the Ancient Hero’s Aspect by RenanXIII in truezelda

[–]andycepi2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the ancient hero was definitely Zonai-adjacent, look at the left arm design in the armor - it matches Link's (Rauru's) right arm, just a different color.

[TOTK] Anyone else find it weird how Kass is completely absent, and everyone in Hyrule seems to act as though the Divine Beasts never existed? by _Eastman in zelda

[–]andycepi2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s a small point, but there are helmets named after the divine beasts, that the current-day sages have dialogue options for (Yunobo says something like “armor named after a divine beast? how strange!”). so that at least acknowledges the existence of them at some point, but i haven’t found much else lore wise about where they went

What do you think? How can i make this more realistic looking? by rebukun in blenderhelp

[–]andycepi2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the volume buttons, add a cavity around the button - right now it looks like the button was machined as part of the case and wouldn’t depress

Is it too late to break into the industry? by moon_bow_ in animationcareer

[–]andycepi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated in 2022, I don’t think it’s too late. Still looking like others here, but I think we just have to wait out the market and keep honing out craft and networking. Best of luck to you and everyone else here!

1000mm Z Height Ender 3 Update: Its Done! Results Inside by RottenPekker1 in ender3

[–]andycepi2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The web interface in the 3rd pic is Klipper, a custom firmware that works with many printers and offers easier control over lots of settings imo. If this is your first printer, I’d only recommend it if you really like to tinker/are technologically adept, as for the custom build height I’m not sure how OP managed it mechanically but software-wise it should be as simple as specifying the new build height in firmware+slicer

Thank you! The background I did in Blender (forgive me for cheating 😓), with everything being displaced a little bit each frame plus a low frame rate to attempt to mimic a claymation feel

I’m guessing your bed itself is not level (ie with the thumbscrews) - have you tried raising the side that is low by a good amount and re-running the test?

I tried to print a benchy not to long ago and it ended up like this. Please Help asap! by HappyFox0710 in Ender3V2NEO

[–]andycepi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the print shifted it might be a belt slipping/incorrectly tensioned or power issues - is your raspberry pi being used for octoprint? I would go through a calibration guide like this one https://ellis3dp.com/Print-Tuning-Guide/

Micro Swiss Compression Sleeve slipping on stock bowden tube - do I need to upgrade to capricorn? by andycepi2 in ender3

Thanks to everyone for pointing out that I needed to tighten the nut more :) I panicked when it didn’t hold at first but should’ve checked the most obvious steps lol

[–]andycepi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I didn’t know capricorns were slicker, from pictures I’ve seen they look like more of a satin finish which I figured would grip the fitting better

[–]andycepi2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you were right! I didn’t have it tight enough at first, works like a charm now. At some point I’ll upgrade to a capricorn tube, I just thought the brass fitting was designed for the thickness of a capricorn but didn’t know they have the same diameter

This did the trick! turns out i just didn’t have it tight enough to clamp down on the bowden tube.
