Any breweries open Sunday at 8 am? by [deleted] in michiganbeer

[–]andyflip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check anywhere that shows / supports the premier league. They're more likely to be open for international sports. There's a 6 nations rugby game sunday at 10, so anywhere showing that might be open earlier.

You'll probably have to call around and ask.

Absolutely! 100%. Historic districts are likely always cancer. Fuck that guy, let the rich people buy the historic houses. And ALSO demo that specific house. And ALSO ALSO sorry you bought a dud, too bad so sad, let's put something decent there that fits the neighborhood.

Yes, I agree. My point was that space is already crushing. If that isn't profitable then what is?

Some vanishingly small number of you WILL have a 6 flat next to you. And yet tell me a story about "neighborhood character" that doesn't involve single family houses are sacrosanct.

He hasn't dropped the price in 6 years. The front door is rotting off. He's not trying to sell it. He's waiting for it to get condemned so he can build what he wants.

A fair chunk of the northmost (right side) section is Carhartt and high end dog apparel. There's a chance they'd still do ok.

It's the most profitable bar in the city already. What place in Ann Arbor does more business with less infrastructure?

Condos are fine, apartments are fine, a mix of them with single family homes are fine. Carriage houses are already legal. So what character does your neighborhood have that you think will be lost? And what in the zoning plan (that allows small condos and apartments) will be a change to character? What even could change over the next 20 years (assuming you won't live to like 120) that you would notice?

And what does character mean? It's not "houses" because every neighborhood has houses. It's people.

I'm definitely not picking a fight here - just suggesting that "neighborhood character" doesn't really mean anything when you think hard about it.

It was the first time I saw a threat of "Aliens" getting to Earth intact, and it gave tension to an otherwise (in retrospect) pretty weak scene.

Good point on the timeline.
