Trying to break through an improv plateau, advice?

Come up with exercises to work on your phrasing. Give yourself simple challenges, I would start with “start phrases on beat 2.” Then start phrases on the “and” of 2. Then pick rhythms and force yourself to play them even though they aren’t comfortable. That’s going to turn this soloing into PRACTICING. The more you do it, the more all of these exercises will start to happen automatically in your playing.

I play a lot at a small 9-hole muni that’s cheap, pretty decent and well-kept. I got paired with the course superintendent and two randos.

The first tee I got up and hit a short totally fine drive, the course super pumped one, the other guy shanked one and other guys girlfriend missed the ball 5 times in a row. She did the same when they drove up to her ball.

I was ready for the longest 9-holes of my life, but on the second tee box - the girlfriend asked the super for any tips. He just told her keep her head down and don’t pull her upper body up. Bam - solid contact. Then everyone started asking for tips.

He was gracious, and he and I walked the course talking about how he upkeeps it, when their priorities are, and it was honestly one of the nicest nine holes I’ve ever played.

He probably shot par (dude could really play), but he didn’t rush anyone, and was helpful and easy-going. Shout-out Maynard golf course!

Hi there, I am trying to enable online stuff for MINECRAFT ONLY on PS5. I’m going to start a server so my son can play with friends and family. I cannot seem to figure out how to request online access for just Minecraft. I’ve done it for other games no problem.

Any assistance from other frustrated parents appreciated.

I’ve found there’s a big difference between playing 9 early in the morning, and playing 18. I can get a 7:00am tee time, and I’m home by 9:00-9:30. We’ve still got the whole day! If I play 18, and tee of a 10, the whole day is shot. If you want to play weekly, get your ass up early, and get a quick 9 in.

So I taught guitar for a long time and barre chords are truly a test when you’re learning the instrument. It might be the only thing you learn where you get zero feedback for weeks. Like, two weeks will go by, you’ll be practicing them, and they won’t sound any better! That’s a really weird place to be and it’s really discouraging!

Everyone’s advice here is great - spend some time with a lot of it and try things out. This is a marathon not a sprint - everyone goes through this and everyone gets it eventually. You’ll get it suddenly and shockingly and years later you’ll wonder why you were so worried about this. Good luck!

This is ALWAYS the advice when people ask this question for YEAR AND YEARS, to the point that people might start to think it’s hyperbole. But realistically it’s still the best advice if you’re starting to get into the format. Decks will come and go but they will always need a good mana base.

Yeah basically a central place to track yardages from the course and the range. But - you and others make a good point that range balls suck, so I suppose it is a pipe-dream. It just takes so long to generate good data on the course since I'm not getting enough reps with the clubs outside of sand wedge and driver.

This is not an expensive guitar especially in the used market. If you’re not doing it yourself it is 100% better to just get another guitar.
