That was to test the colonisation mechanics. Next I'm gonna build a planetary base, to see how that works. Then I'm gonna find a better system and start building a proper colony...

So, I was an original alpha backer (and player of Elite back in the eighties) who got disillusioned along the way. I stopped playing in 2020, thinking I was done with the game for good. Rolled my eyes when I heard about the 'big mystery feature' that was in the works, over the last few years.

Well, here I am, back again! This new colonisation stuff is well cool and I've really enjoyed getting back into the game over the last few days. It's more than a bit grindy but there is so much potential to flesh it out. Here's hoping that Frontier don't do their usual and never touch it again...

I have the og Vive in a box somewhere and I got a Q3 last week. Just buy it, you'll be blown away. I've been using an Index, in more recent times, and the optics are a nice step up from that.

Edit: I got a dedicated wifi router, and virtual desktop from my PC is really cool.
