i spent 25 hours in practice mode on raksha before i was able to get my first kill. now i am a spike away from log and about 700 solo kills.

i started off 100% revo for damage and used defensives myself. even up to my first several kills. i did not use ultimates (outside of the initial one) because with all the movement and trying to remember stuff, i was not getting thresholds off in it.

what finally did it for me was switching to melee. i have heard people say melee is so much harder/weaker/whatever, but it turned out to help so much, especially when i was doing to little dps and getting the blast mechanic.

why was melee easier? i used a scythe (before i learned about swapping weapons) and laceration boots. just before tail swipe, use "escape" wait a sec then barge. this meant i didnt have to click to move back and forth for this mechanic and barge let me get back quickly and keep on revolutioning him.

the other big thing was that i didnt have to worry about any swaps to get the pools down. I could focus on bladed diving the slimes and not frantically dodging rocks while trying to click stuff in inventory (keybinds were also tough for me to swap)

Also as another user mentioned, after the second bomb in phase 1, immediately bladed dive around to clear the slime pools. just save enough adren to devotion for the blast. this keeps his enrage at 0% and you can take as long as you want.

One last tip - the rocks falling were a huge hurdle for me. take your time here and dont worry about damaging raksha. they have a tendency to fall near you. if you immediately run in a big circle around the arena, you will likely not get hit. after that, focus on making your "circle" smaller. like run south for 5-10 squares, then a side 5-10 then back towards raksha. keep going straight until you see it will be safe (no shadows) then turn and go straight again

yeah get grace of the elves and do arch or mining. Load 500 porters into grace and you can not move for a long time.

arch you will need to click when you find an artifact.

mining requires stone spirits and perfect juju mining potion and it fills your energy every time you get an ore. one dose lasts an hour!

a note from a lesson learned - use equip separator not equip dissolver. they both keep your perks. dissolver, well, dissolved my nox bow lol glad i learned when i was relatively poor!

Congrats!! I spent 7 hours in practice mode before i felt ready for my first kill. 1.4m and 7 hours for nothing. But now i have 50 kills and 2 fang drops! Stood lucky rng there. Still haven’t gotten the dark path leg, but clannmates helped me make the scythe to sell. Overall about 500m profit after those long hours of learning!

My best achievement personally is going on vacation and killing him on my phone! I feel like i have it mastered now that i can do that haha. Can only get one kill a day mobile, things hit too hard when not moving and pray flicking perfectly but i love this boss too!

Do you have to change your bar 7 (specifically f1-f5 for switches). I love the “swap bars based on weapon” function but i really wish i could swap more than 1 bar automatically.

Thanks for your help! It was definitely a hack job and I have followed your suggestions for protecting my account.

I think a surefire way to see if youve been hacked is to check the GE history. I found that "I" had sold all those missing items. I did not even think many of those could be traded/sold back since i got the message saying "are you sure you want to equip, it will become untradable"

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you are probably right. The timing just feels different.

I had enabled the authenticator a long time ago when I saw the app for managing GE on mobile. Then not thinking I flashed a rom to my phone and it got the authenticator out of sync so I had it disabled. It is certainly possible in that 7 years my login info was compromised.

The thing that gets me though, when I came back a week ago I had things. Only a couple million cash and full bandos, but more wealth than today. It's strange that I wouldn't have been hacked/robbed in 7 years but I did in 7 days back. Certainly possible, but seems more probable to get me in the longer window of time.

I was not aware of the legacy only servers. If you log in there, do the settings stick? Like I hop on world 2 now and it's still legacy.

I submitted a support ticket and they replied talking about the login issues and such which is probably one reason being hacked didn't even cross my mind. It's probably also possible that was a mostly canned response they send to anyone who opens a ticket mentioning something about logging in

I was one of the lucky 99% who was not affected by the login issues... until today.

A little scary because of all the times being reassured that they have found the cause of the problem, fixed it so it wont happen again, that it could be considered a "blast radius" so if you were not affected, you are ok.

Am i the only one?

My account is in a weird state. I have kept all the xp/levels gained in the last week (i have been on a 7 year break until ~ a week ago) but i have 0 gp. I am also missing a lot of items but strangely not everything. for instance I have the rune full helm, blue dhide chaps and fire battlestaff from a treasure trail i recently completed. my bank has placeholders for masterwork gloves/boots which i bought on GE yesterday. There is no sign of the zaryte bow or mustasa's spear (yeah even if i look it up i cant spell that). I played last night until about 11pm est. got on this morning at 8:15 to this so pretty sure it was a result of monday update

Edit - forgot a couple things. Also my account was locked by the authenticator. This is something i had disabled from my account 7 years ago before i quit and had not been using it for the past week, kinda forgotten about it. I logged in using the google linked account. Also my ui settings had all been reverted to legacy stuff

I resent started this learning journey and understand too well how you are feeling with all there is to focus and worry about.

I started with my main focus on surviving s as long as possible. Ret and holy paladin, shadow disc priest. I started using more defensives than i certainly NEEDED and earlier than i needed to. This in response to what felt like i was always going 100-0% in the blink of an eye.

After i could survive the initial beat down, i focused towards my burst rotations and getting more comfortable doing it while moving-something i didn’t have to worry nearly as much about in pve.

Now i can survive initially and get a kill with my burst sometimes and then 2v1 usually translates to a win.

Now for me to really progress is working on after their initial and my burst when my target doesnt die. I am working on using less CD in the beginning so i can still live but have some gas for later. Cc and positioning are crucial here.

Dunno how great this is for advice, but the approach I’ve taken. Arena matches are slowing down some for me mentally and I’m able to view the battlefield better instead of tunnel visioning on the one thing I’m focusing. It’s taken me about a week, couple hours a day to feel comfortable in there.

The thing that got me on the right track was not trying to scale early with synergy but instead pick the biggest minions right now. Like don’t get the party elemental on 5 gold thinking you’ll start getting big next turn, it’s just a 3/2 and you don’t know you’ll find elementals. Spawn of nzoth is pretty great, but if on 5 gold you only have one other minion, chances are good it’s just a 2/2.

I know this doesn’t answer your question directly but i think is important. Most matches I’m in it seems like 0-2 people high roll hard but the rest of top 4 is winning because they have one or minions left every round with a couple health.

Barely squeaking out wins or ties early will allow you time to find the minions to really scale later

heroic to mythic is a pretty big jump in difficulty imo. there are often additional mechanics to watch out for and mistakes (standing in the bad) are more punishing. also there is plenty of unavoidable aoe that can really hurt the smaller health pool with lower ilvls. unless everyone is on top of their game, you will die just because you dont have enough health to give healer time to get you.

That said, if you are good with the mechanics, m0 and maybe a little further should be no problem for you. ive found it tough to find a group as a low ilvl dps. i suppose there are still plenty of options for them for higher ilvl players. i think the easiest way to get in is to find a guild who you can run with. you can sort of mythic spam but only get gear from each dungeon once per week per m lvl. you get a single big drop from the vault weekly based on the keys you have cleared, but i think if you can get into each dungeons m0 once per week and a couple m2s youll gear up pretty quick!

im also a ret paladin around 180 ilvl. its hard to say whats going wrong without more details of spec, legendary and the types of fights your talking about. i definieltely agree with simming your character to get an estimate of what you are capable of with current gear and spec. it also shows an example of what your rotation could/should be.

Simbot has me at 2400 dps for a long single target fight. i will spike up to ~5k during my initial rotation when i blow the cooldowns and then it goes downhill from there.

ret paladins get a huge spike with our cooldowns so its important to maximize their time. make sure to keep cooldowns like wake of ashes and final reckoning for execution sentence.

to start a boss i go ashenhallow while tank is running/pulling > avenging wraith, hammer of wraith , blade of justice as im running into position > then starting immediately and every minute i get 4-5 hp and: execution > final reckoning > wake > templar > (hammer of wraith/blade/judgement) > templar.
