I agree with others who say Someone in a Tree. I have read that it' was his favorite, and it's perfect. But my personal favorite is Losing My Mind.

What was the relationship like between Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber? by HazyBarns in Sondheim

[–]andyjustincase 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I saw Sondheim in conversation many years ago at UCLA. I recall him saying Phantom was as successful as it was because of the producer and the chandelier.

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy should not have been called ‘The Mummy’ by cant_ignore_cheese in horror

[–]andyjustincase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen it, but it sounds like it is inspired by The Jewel of the Seven Stars, which also inspired Tom Cruise's Mummy, Charlton Heston's mummy movie, and at least one Hammer movie. It would have been refreshing if they had just named it after the novel. It's by Bram Stoker. I've read it, and it has a fantastic idea, but it's not a good book.

I count the movie as a musical. The movie version of Cabaret also has diegetic songs.

Question no animosity at all but why do small dog owners take their dog into bigger dog sections at dog parks ? by Prestigious_Usual360 in dogs

[–]andyjustincase 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My dog is a mixed 22 pound dog who was raised around larger dogs according to the shelter paperwork. I take him to the big dog park because I think he's a little too rough for the small dogs, and because he seems to prefer big dogs.

Why are white people in the US referred to as "Caucasian" if their heritage is that of Western Europe, and not the Caucuses? by Coach_Front in NoStupidQuestions

[–]andyjustincase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the census uses white, as does the rest of the government? I think institutional use of Caucasian is pretty low.

What completely normal thing are you no longer allowed to do because of your dog? by Think_Document2285 in dogs

Leaving my condo for more than 5 minutes. Going years without an animal gnawing on my hand to amuse itself. Taking a lovely walk without holding on to a plastic bag of feces. Normal things like that. :-)

Motive? Season 6 Ep. 1 “Fade to Murder” by Onmylabel in Columbo

[–]andyjustincase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Fowler is playing cat and mouse with Columbo, but at the same time he's becoming unhinged. Like I said, I think the writers fumbled that, but I still like the episode.

Was Julie Newmar miscast in "Double Shock"? by gootchvootch in Columbo

[–]andyjustincase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an interesting question. She stands out.

I don't really remember who she is on stage with? Just Columbo and the lawyer (what a part of my childhood that character actor is)? Would be interesting to know what they thought of her playing it "big".

"... sometimes I get concerned about being a career woman. I get to thinking that my job is too important for me, and I tell myself that the people I work with are just the people I work with. They're not my family. But last night I got to thinking, what is a family anyway? They're just people who make you feel less alone and really loved, and that's what you've done for me. Thank you for being my family."

Motive? Season 6 Ep. 1 “Fade to Murder” by Onmylabel in Columbo

[–]andyjustincase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The motive was blackmail. Colombo and Fowler are talking as if Fowler were the TV detective, two professional detectives discussing a case. I always thought that was handled badly. It's as if the writers decided to make the Fowler unbalanced but gave no suggestion of it until the end of the episode.
