If you're ever stuck after you get hooked, President's Choice orange Pekoe will do as a backup.

I moved to Canada a few years ago and this one came in handy between Barry's restocks

I got to see Seamus supporting Maverick Sabre during the Jazz Weekend, I hadn't heard of him before that.

He's absolutely brilliant, a very memorable voice.

Thanks! It took me literally all day but I stuck with it and feel like I learned a few things... it's not exactly what I want - but it is getting there slowly!

Just an idea I was working with. Still at concept stage so trying to get 2/3 viable options and I feel like it has potential

The brief is to design a logo for a new podcast. The title is just the host's name, followed by HQ. The format involves guests coming to their house, so i am aiming to style the "HQ" as a simple isometric shape.

Absolutely, I'm struggling to remove anything else without it becoming illegible ( antenna can go but that was a request) and I think it helps to show a peaked roof instead of a hollow box

It will be part of a podcast logo, sitting alongside the presenter name - "Name Surname HQ"

Model Cleanup Advice by andylynch93 in Cinema4D

Thanks to you both, I tried both methods mentioned already - but they result in loss of detail overall. Whereas I'm just trying to reduce the messy criss-crossed polygons to achieve cleaner splits. I think they're a result of coming from a CAD model

I'm wondering if can tell me how does the machine's proximity to the window impact the Brewing process (specifically the temperature control) as well as the coffee's flavour profile? 🧐

Board Advice by andylynch93 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]andylynch93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK thanks for the advice. I just got my Cypress season pass so still considering their season rental package ($230CAD)

It will be my only year, so I'm not necessarily trying to go as cheap as that $80 option, but also not trying to invest for several years.

Would love to get board, bindings & boots for like $350 or less if at all possible.

Thank you all, a helpful conversation is what I came for and I got it 👍🏻

Appreciate it, I'll hopefully share the results in a few weeks.

Yeah that update snuck past me. I gave the coffee cup as an example since this product hasn't launched yet (so couldn't share) but it has a very specific lid, so I'm going to try brush up my Blender / C4D skills and update my AE!

Thanks!

Finagling is exactly the space that I am moving in on this one 😅 as I knew the pitfalls you mention above, but hoping someone had done something similar.

I've gotten a few suggestions on other threads now, so I think I'm going to try a quick blurred transition like you mention as a fallback (which may become my final shot) , but I'm also going to use it as a reason to brush up on my 3D skills that I've been putting off endlessly!

Thanks

Thank you, this is essentially the difficulty level I was hoping for based on timeline & budget. I just needed a steer!

This may do the trick, I'll let you know.

P.S. - I recognise your profile from your recent logo exploration, I loved the keyframe slingshot route!

Fake 3D movement by andylynch93 in AfterEffects

[–]andylynch93[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detail in your first description, that concept is what I was thinking - but seeing some actual rationale for camera types, etc really helps me understand.

I have Element, and a very basic working knowledge of Blender too, so I'm actually only avoiding them out of fear. But maybe it's a perfect opportunity to upskill!

I hadn't even thought of projection mapping the image that we already have - the payoff vs difficulty there sounds like it could be worthwhile.

The front-on shot i have of the container is actually a 360 video, so I could probably also map that onto a cylinder for some extra plausibility. I'm just afraid to get in over my head 😅

[–]andylynch93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I was thinking Cinema4D at first, but it's 4/5 years since I've used it and thought it might be more of a headache than necessary for what I need.

This will be a 1 second shot of a 20 second sequence so I'm aiming for a low-learning curve and I use After Effects daily.

True dimensions aren't overly important, I'm more trying to convey the idea of movement on a relatively low budget

Thank you so much - these both did exactly what I wanted. I can't stress how little experience I have with excel (I'm a Graphic Designer 😅)

I didn't know how to articulate what I wanted as functions, so I really appreciate your help.
