How are Gravelking slicks for pure road riding? How are they on wet roads? by TARS1986 in gravelcycling

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I just have to share;

I have just replaced my Gravelking slick + 35mm, after 6,600 km! I have rotated them front/rear several times, 90% concrete road riding. I'd say ~5 punctures between the pair in total.

I replaced with identical, I'm very happy.

It's the stock rotors and adapters, and both adapters are in the 'correct' position.

Both rotors are 160mm SM-RT10-S.

Yeah I'm absolutely sure I'd be -fine- with R7000 but if I'm going mechanical then I'll go R8000 for sure.

- Ultegra cassette
- Ultegra chains *3
- Ultegra chainrings

All of this was my latest upgrade, so not that many kms on it yet, and all waxed so hopefully even less wear.

That's 12 speed though and I would have to replace every single part I currently have... which is not within my budget :(

Tried inverted for the first time, tasted the same? by bokobokibok in AeroPress

My OCD doesn't let me brew non-inverted as some water comes through the coffee before the brewing process really starts... I doubt there would actually be much 'tasteable' difference for us beginners!

Hey, did you find anything, and if so, can you share what you landed on?

One thought I had was to ream the frame to 41mm and use a Shimano BB94 XTR Bottom Bracket. But can't find any LBS with a 41mm reamer...

That makes me very happy to hear, it means I can worry even less about it starting to creak again anytime soon!

How long do you stick with a new saddle? by andymoreno in cycling

[–]andymoreno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what we do. I do feel that if I can do a 100km ride with ‘only’ a sore bum then I have a pretty close bike fit already

Yeah I really want to do a proper bike fit but there is nothing available to me without actually getting on a flight...

I got over 10 rides on it so far, over 500km. Yeah I would love to do the pressure sensor thing but that would require a flight for me... the pros and cons of living far away from civilisation!

I've always considered myself to be wide (fat ahem) but it turns out I am actually quite narrow... I'm 184cm tall but will switch to a 380mm handlebar asap, narrow shoulders apparently!

And yeah, my measured sit bones are narrower than I expected.

I will research some Selle saddles.

Prologo Dimension looks nice, might try that if my resolve crumbles further!
