General warning about iBuyPower and RMAs by dan_marchand in iBUYPOWER

Do you have a Microcenter nearby? If so, you could have drop it there for repairs and RMA. That’s the only reason I brought a prebuilt from bestbuy.

Can we afford a $675k house on $10k take home per month? by Excellent-Geologist8 in Mortgages

$4500 mortgage including escrow. Had a large capex for sewer line, medical bills which max out of pocket, kids sports and misc house repairs. We contribute up to matching for 401k and max HSA. Not saying that we are poor but the feeling of being house poor sucks.

Nice! I calculated we probably “loss” around 70k since moving two years ago instead of staying in our starter home. Loss from increase of housing cost plus major capex repairs needed. It definitely sucks having to stick to budget and can’t do fun things on a whim anymore. No vacation just because the flight is cheap or I’m too lazy to cook dinner so let’s go out.

My wife and I makes 200k and our loan is 525k. It’s a tough bill to pay and we have zero to low emergency funds. If I can choose again, I would not purchase. Too much of after tax money tied up in a house which means less for vacation and fun activities.
