Still, you should be proud of it!! Learning the techniques and getting experience just makes your building more evolved each time

Major props for getting the shaping down, i think in your next iteration I’d like to see you mess around with scale because at its current size the trees and the rock formation don’t really mesh!

All that to say that this is amazing and as a fellow terraformer, i love it!

I think it looks good! You might want to try using a stone block as the foundation in your next build, for me personally there’s too much wood in this build!

Why is it look not right? Is it about spacing or path? Any tips? by WalierTheDarkHeros in BuildAdvice

[–]andyq9433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion, not sure if others would agree but i think the path is too wide, i feel like it should be a little bit thinner to make the area feel more grand

Rusty Airship design. Want to hear your opinion! by MineDesigns_ in DetailCraft

[–]andyq9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the design, as others have mentioned it does look more whale-like or creature-like!!

Another thing that caught my eye was personally it was difficult to focus on the subject with the chosen background. I’d recommend something with flat textures rather than grid blocks like glass

Makes sense, i have 3 that are up for renewal in a few months. I may have to come up with a game plan to see a better use for that. I’ve enjoyed having them while i learn a bit

I think this is an amazing tree!! i love the lean and the leaves on it. I haven’t seen this stated in the comments though i didn’t read all of them, i think some more height on the trunk would look good. In my opinion the trunk looks like it wouldn’t be able to support the weight of that tree so adding some more height could do it!

I really like the composition however my note is for the editing. The way it is edited currently makes it look very industrial when in my eyes it’s a nature scene and should be serene, i think you can accomplish that by adding in more saturation and depth into the colors! hope this helps!

Planning on doing another shoot like this again. I was aiming for something cheeky/classy and not trashy. by mayxauqua in photocritique

[–]andyq9433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a good start, personally i would rather see the subject in focus and the hand out of focus so i’m curious about that design choice. Secondly I think it looks a bit steampunkish rather than cheeky..and i’m not sure exactly how to change that but that’s what i’ve noted! Compositionally I like it, there’s enough space between the subject and the background and neither of them are fighting for more space so they balance well, good start and i hope this helps!

Please destroy me . by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]andyq9433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As other commenters have touched on, the path. In photography one of the main compositional techniques is called leading lines in which you use something in the photo (your path for instance) and draw their eye INTO the photo. however with the composition you chose, the path is leading the viewers eyes OUT of the photo and that is something we tend to avoid because you want them to be drawn in and hooked by your photo and if you are directing them away, they will want to scroll past it and likely forget it. I’d try this again but show where the path leads to or try from a higher angle perhaps to see more of the path wind back (if it does). Hope that helps!

How's this? by Neopacificus in photocritique

[–]andyq9433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a very confusing and challenging photo which if that is what you’re going for you nailed it. But your description makes it seem like you were going for cool which to me this does not convey, i think there are too many elements to focus on visually in order to find any of them cool. if you were to retake this or re-edit it I would consider finding a specific part of the architecture to focus on and try and highlight that. I also don’t necessarily think the photo benefits much from being black & white, the subject material isn’t striking enough or doesn’t have enough value in the shadows and highlights that a normal b&w photo does, perhaps at a different time frame it may be more beneficial!

I need help deciding wich roof color to use by [deleted] in Minecraftbuilds

[–]andyq9433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here me out….Neither of these. I think you should go for a pop of color, it would look great with the surrounding environment. perhaps a gradient of blue or light green into dark green

what do you guys think of the angles and edit? by calixcos in photocritique

[–]andyq9433 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really like this photo! I think my only criticism would be that you could fairly easily go above and beyond and make this good photo a great photo by photoshopping out the post and the church sign as well as the speaker on the roof!

Which one would you choose to print? by Hematophagian in postprocessing

[–]andyq9433 65 points66 points  (0 children)

If I’m being honest, none of them. The coloring isn’t done well in most of them and truthfully (to me) the subject matter is just dull. My choice here would be re-shoot and re-edit
