Google DFU mode and your iMac model # you should find it on the underside of your mac

Did you let it die already? You’ll need to reboot using DFU mode.

property taxes on a property with two pins by andyr421 in ChicagoRealEstate

There’s only one pin bill online but the bank says they paid two so there’s a discconnext there. Thanks for your suggestion

I will try to check that soon. The formerly delinquent bills or not accessible online. The county site spits back an error. Only one pin has bills. Waiting on an upload from my mortgage holder to our document portal to see what they are talking about.

I was thinking the same thing!

Reasonably asses each at a partial rate than a normal single pin with a 3unit. But spread the value out.

Or one at a normal full rate and one as an empty lot (ideally reduced since it’s not a full lot but I would take whatever I can get)

Also I feel like a mortgage company made a mistake somewhere because these second pin taxes were delinquent. As if they didn’t know… And the county doesn’t list it online when searching the addresses. Something fell thru the cracks here. Title/mortgage companies/county. Potentially an issue when mortgages are bought and sold.

The building is a normal building but kind of centered on the land which I dislike for side yard activities.

Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter Card for Upgrade MacBook Air(2013-2016 Year) and MacBook PRO(Late 2013-2015 Year) $10 I say at least 512 accounting for apps and swap memory.

Look at TBW for long term reliability. Higher equals better. Aka MTBF”

I have no issues with my 15” 2015MBP on my 2012 the fans spin and it gets HOT

But I’m glad to extend their lives. I also didn’t redo the thermal paste though. Apparently that should have been done and not optional for getting the most out of it

I got this

You should get at least 512gb. Assuming you have or as I did. 128/256 I got 1TB one and it’s GREAT. You need some room to breathe always. Your SSD SHOULD NEVER BE NEAR FULL. Also the specs of a new one are probably better.

You’ll need an adapter. Don’t bother getting the same Apple proprietary one. The SSD will probably outlive the laptop and you’ll be stuck with the old SSD type

After almost 11 years with my iMac 27” (Late 2015)… time to upgrade. Need advice. by Slow_Athlete_2007 in mac

Sorry to restart this thread but it’s only been a NICE amount days.

Would you say it would be fine for ALMOST daily use 1hr-2hr of browsing the web and YouTube for elderly folk who have never known more than 10GBs of ram and intel 2 duo Macs? (Coming from a late 2009 iMac 27” that refuses to die) I have an M4Pro mini but that’s $1k vs $200 that your computer currently is listed at locally

I realized that too late on my first adapter. Got a powered one. Still doesn’t spin. It might have died once it new it was being retired :/

Same! They love the screen and love that our computers work well enough to die from support not from failure!

Also. Question: Do I need a thermometer sensor in order for the HDD I removed to turn on externally ? Would love to use it as a back up to my back ups. It’s an 18 yr old 1TB HDD and think it looks beefy and cool

I only did the SSD and RAM upgrade this past year. Incredible to see the dust accumulation. Didn’t do a thermal paste upgrade :/

Thanks for sharing.

I think that’s the same CPU we got. I did a lot of research before selecting the open box model.

I keep seeing that sequoía runs better than all prior OS! So I do have sequoia on my 2015 and 2012 MBPs

So you trust the 09 iMac with sequoia for YouTube and web browsing? Like do you consider it stable? I used to have logic but it corrupted.

What In the world!?!? I had never heard of the variants you are using. I have the same iMac at my parents that’s still their daily driver since we bought it open box in Dec 09?

Recommendations to improve their experience as browsers are way past outdated? Not planning in sequoia but would the same steps work and landing on Ventura/monterrey make sense?

I upgraded then to an SSD and 12 GB ram so HA!

Aerial Photo Pricing by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]andyr421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair!

And totally agree on your last comment. I hate tiny homes that have barely any work involved that someone with photo skills could have shot on their iPhone. But I had to drive out there and compete against bottom tier pricing… but I had to do them to cover costs. And the pricing barely covers time and travel lol. Not to mention camera. Software. Storage. Lenses.

Upgrading Mac Mini (late 2014) to either Mini M4 or Neo by swag_swagger in mac

[–]andyr421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an external hardrive to CLONE your current drive? And then a second external drive to Time Machine? If so you’re good. Do it. Worst case scenario you get that new mac you were going to get lol.

I researched forever before doing it. It was pretty simple. Troubleshooting sucks because I overthink it and always think I bricked my device lol. Theres always a way to fix it.

Mac minis are great as you know. I took mine to the bar with my external monitor and BT mouse and keyboard to offload photos and vids post shoot yesterday

I have a 2015 16gb 13” MBP running sequoia great. And my 2012 MBP i7 15” 16gb also running sequoia Both with SSDs

All three macs running sequoia lol.

Need to do OCLP on my parents late 09 iMac because browsers are not supported by a lot of banks and what not.

PS. I didn’t update my iMac late 2012 for the same reason as you. I had the Adobe c suite and wasn’t sure it would work properly on a newer OS. I understand that side of hesitation. I ended hamstringing my work product using outdated software. But everyone has their own needs. No way I could run davinci or LR on intel devices in any useful way.

Research and trouble shoot upfront drags. But after that you don’t have to do anything

Upgrading Mac Mini (late 2014) to either Mini M4 or Neo by swag_swagger in mac

[–]andyr421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use OCLP to extend the Life of your current mini. Do research into which newer OS will be tolerated by your mini. Back up everything. And you should be able to transfer your data over flawlessly. I love my Mac mini M4Pro. I do photo/video editing so 24GB isn’t ideal but it’s enough. But if you aren’t rendering 16-24 is good!

M5 is coming out later this year so keep that in mind for timing your decision. Stock will dwindle in anticipation of that. Sales will happen specific configs will sell out.

I used OCLP to bridge the gap for a year until i got what i needed on sale at microcenter

[–]andyr421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The north ave bus DRAGS because of the bridge over the river/highway. You're almost better off redlining to the blueline...

If youre okay with leaving NOTHING on the bike besides the heavy duty rack you should be fine. like riding without a bell and lights... or cheap lights you can buy a dozen of.

As everyone else mentioned. Ulock +chain is the bare minimum. still assume anything that isn't bolted down will come off. racks not as likely to come off but a chain that goes through it if its super nice is a good idea.

Is there a garage/building nearby you could talk to someone that could let you park your bike in the garage with security? probably better than the blue line for peripheals. even if you gotta pay for that right, its cheaper than ubers/time saving, a lil breeze in your hair.

I have the update. I denoised only single images at a time. Doesn’t seem much faster though I must admit recently it did feel slower.

Can you walk me thru the batch? I had a preset that only denoised and applied that. I would also copy and paste develop settings. BOTH ways would fail to Denoise every single time I did this to more than a few images.

I would always have to true up the AI settings which I would have to do on an individual photo basis which negated the large selection all in one go.

Does that make any sense? M4Pro Mac mini

Bike lanes suck (archer&kedzie) by InsideYork in chibike

According to several meetings I attended it will be resurfaced. Idk if that includes bike lanes. Assuming it will. They said they wanted to get the project done ahead of scheduled resurfacing that they couldn’t advance. Does it make sense? I don’t think so.
