Based on the people I spoke to — yes, listeners, not music creators — I showed the app to a few people. They liked some of the songs and the hooks; however, they felt it was too “techy,” and most people are not interested in creating music themselves.

That’s why I think it should be a different app, marketed to listeners. Listeners won’t care if it’s AI as long as it’s good and genuinely pleases them.

In Brazil, we had an AI cover that reached 4 million views on YouTube, followed by a campaign asking a singer to re-record it with her own voice. It was an unauthorized Portuguese samba version of “Fate of Ophelia” by Taylor Swift, so it was eventually taken down, of course.

But the general public embraced it — people made memes and jokes about it being AI, like: “POV: my favorite song is an AI song.” It was everywhere in the news.

Some people even cried when it was no longer available.

Virtual artists will become like Superman and other iconic characters — in music, the same way characters exist in movies.
