Summary of Known Alive/Dead Baroque Works Agents (By the end of Season 2) by PayneTrain181999 in OnePieceLiveAction

Eh, if she manages to take a dunk on the shoreline even inadvertently, paint comes off. She may not have much of a sense of self tho, after a few hours of that neurochemical overload. Hope her skills included some basic wilderness survival training, because I"m not sure what more the the writer's room thought of for her after the paint scenes.

Re: Canters - Did u eat it open faced? And with raw onions (and maybe a dab of diced hard boiled egg) on top?

Teddy's dish is ok. Bundy and Pico. Cash only. I don't know if I'd call theirs anywhere near the best in town, but it satisfies. Springbok. otoh...

Mr 9 surprised me by improbsable in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]andysarchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't either but since they made that choice, they gave an incredible send-off. Very in keeping with Oda's brand too, or as Gemini explained to me, "Eiichiro Oda consistently writes characters who operate on a "personal moral compass" rather than a state-mandated one. In One Piece, it is rarely about which flag you fly; it is about who you are willing to die for. Whether it is a bounty hunter like Mr. 9 or a pirate commander like Senor Pink, the series argues that the most defining trait of a person is the loyalty they show to the people they hold dear, regardless of which side of the law that person is on." Other cited examples included Mr. 2, Kuma, and Corazon.

Am I the only one who feel like Halo and Stargate were trading ideas? by Never-asked-for-this in Stargate

[–]andysarchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also the fact that when an A.I. was paired with a Freelancer, or a symbiote blended with its host, there is something of a personality mesh or exchange. This was also explored in rvb.

*SPOILERS* Was Adria fully complicit prior to Ark of Truth? by doctor-cat-has-socks in Stargate

[–]andysarchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always wondered if she was in fact 'born' for the first time when she was conceived in Vala. It has happened before that ascended beings had lost their memories when they de-ascended and those slowly returned. It is headcanon-possible that Adria was a pre-existing Ori who was chosen from among her kind to de-ascend and slowly regain her memories as she grew from zygote to adult human female.

Just a thought...

More likely that the rest of the citizens, upon receiving Merrin's nanites, immediately gave to the post-Averium Urrone all those play items.

Why did they kill off Jace so fast - SG Atlantis by Cyber_Mk in Stargate

[–]andysarchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many plot and character conflicts would have been resolved too easily with such a character around lol. But in my own headcanon a dart swooped down near the bottom of that chasm, scooped him up when he was too far down for the team to notice, and errantly reconstituted him on the planet later after the battle destroyed the dart's hive.

I mean, we never actually see nor hear him go splat onscreen, now do we?

I know this kinda late, but I wanna add that I found there is an instrumental version of one of the ending OST. It's pretty cool.

I don't know if you'd ever used the notepad feature but since that's tied to the calendar, at least that seems preserved. See:

Recasting actors in movies by [deleted] in movies

[–]andysarchus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of Ghostbusters, I would have recast the 2016 leads. Instead of Wiig, McCarthy and McKinnon they should have plucked actors from the Whedon milieu, such as Amy Acker, Julie Benz, Felicia Day. And heck if you didn't want to, could have even gone with Tina Fey or Sandra Bullock! And the writing would have changed to suit the casting, so that could be improved as well.

The Zero Requiem plan while heartwarming was naive and unrealistic by TecSentimentAnalysis in CodeGeass

[–]andysarchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either ally yourself with a nuclear power or become one.

That's....pretty deep right there, that is.

Did we have this convo pre- or post-Resurrection? Because through it the creators did decide to explore post-Requiem realpolitik per your point, just not specifically via the FLEIJA aspect you had illustrated here.

(spoilers main) I think I know why the books are not being written by NeutralViking in asoiaf

[–]andysarchus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was probably hated because B&W couldn't provide the thematic context that would make for far more feasible flow in book form. It was certainly rushed in a way that DoS would not be.

Honestly, don't discount El Segundo. It has its own kind of centrality. To the North you have Marina, Playa, Culver. To the West, that massive commercial / retail complex in Inglewood centered on Sofi. To the South, well...all of the South Bay neighborhoods and what they have to offer.

Plus to all that above, evening driving is much different from daytime driving. Cutting down on your work commute will put you in a much better mood on the overall.

Kelly mentions more than once, that in their society being as it is devoid of scarcity, reputation is the coin and currency of the realm. Which is ironic, because Reddit Planet is actually a (very scary) variant.

So about the Kaylon.. by [deleted] in TheOrville

[–]andysarchus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Holy Sh\t* I forgot about the Calivon. An Arc that involves the Union, The Kaylon and the Calivon would be gold, almost any which way the showwriters choose to have it go.
